Democrat Run California Senate Passes Resolution Telling Christians To Embrace LGBT

What part of the 1st Amendment is not understood by California Democrats? Or of the California Constitution (Article 1 section 4) (via The Right Scoop)

(CBN NEWS) – California Senate passed a resolution telling Christian clergy to accept and support LGBTQ ideology, even if doing so violates their Christian beliefs.

Assembly Concurrent Resolution 99 (ACR-99) was introduced by Democratic state Assemblyman Evan Low of San Jose on June 4 as a way to gather support for LGBTQ identity and behaviors.

The resolution also condemns counseling for unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion, known as conversion therapy.

The resolution also seeks to reduce the stigma that society, therapists, and religious groups allegedly inflict upon those within the LGBTQ community.

ACR-99 proclaims that stigmatizing has caused “disproportionately high rates of suicide, attempted suicide, depression, rejection, and isolation amongst LGBTQ and questioning individuals. The State of California has a compelling interest in protecting the physical and psychological well-being of minors, including LGBTQ youth.”

The Right Scoop notes

The last paragraph about suicides left something out. The resolution actually blames Christians, in part, for the high rates of suicide among LGBTers:

The stigma associated with being LGBTQ often created by groups in society, including therapists and religious groups, has caused disproportionately high rates of suicide, attempted suicide, depression, rejection, and isolation amongst LGBTQ and questioning individuals;

That’s right from the text of the resolution. And this, along with their ban of so-called ‘conversion therapy’ and their call for Christians to accept homosexuality borders on the fascistic.

What’s next when Christians don’t accept homosexuality? Are they going to regulate what can and can’t be said in our churches? They’ve already tried to regulate what happens in the confessional of the Catholic church.

Now, reading the text of the resolution, it doesn’t actually name any specific religion, but it does allude to Christians, because Muslims do not tolerate gays. In many areas around the world they just kill them. The Pulse Night Club was targeted because the people who go there were LGBT. The resolution does specifically mention “pastors”, which is a Christian thing. Also

Resolved, That the Legislature calls upon religious leaders to counsel on LGBTQ matters from a place of love, compassion, and knowledge of the psychological and other harms of conversion therapy; and be it further

That seems rather like the California Democratic Party run Senate is telling religious leaders what to do.

If only the hyper progressive leftists had not taken over the Cal GOP 30 years ago!

We have had to chose (other than the conservative Pete W.) between a far left GOP; or a “center left” Dem. The liberal GOP brought in a progressive “carpet bagger” for the last election. Few, if any. were fooled. So we got Newsome!

    • Professor Hale says:

If conservatives in California had the numbers, there couldn’t have been a GOP party takeover by progressives. Demographic shift is a fact of life.

      • formwiz says:

Demographic shift is a fact of life.

        So is vote fraud.

So is economic malfeasance, misfeasance, and nonfeasance. Looks like Trump will do OK in CA.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Demographic shift is a fact. Vote fraud is another right-wing myth.

          • formwiz says:

Tell it to the people convicted for 1053 counts of vote fraud.

            Demos can’t win without it.

But it won’t save them next year.

Trump is raising millions even in Beverly Hills.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

But we thought you had evidence of 7 million fraudulent votes in CA alone?? No?

            https://www.brennancenter.org/analysis/debunking-voter-fraud-myth

Even tRump’s own hand-picked Voter Fraud Czar, Kris K Kobach, shut down his commission for lack of results.

Like most deeply held tenets of the ConCult, widespread voter fraud is a myth.

You may not understand the make-up of red and blue states. Blue states have a majority of Dem voters but not exclusively Dem voters. We’re sure that CA has many thousands of wealthy GOPhers wanting to protect their tax cuts.

  5. Professor Hale says:

If mass shootings were killing as many gay people as Suicide, the legislature make gun ownership illegal. Looks like if they really cared about the entire LGBTQ+ spectrum they would make all of those things illegal.

  6. Dana says:

It won’t be long before the Pyrite State decides that Catholic priests will no longer be allowed to perform marriages, because the Catholic Church will not allow homosexual ‘marriages.’

Of course, this is just a resolution, stating what the legislature believe pastors should say; it has no compulsive force of law.

They were asking conservatives to hate less. Is that even possible in the age of tRumpism?

      You first.

We don’t cheer every time misfortune befalls some Lefty.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Hate is the right’s stock in trade.

        • formwiz says:

That’s why Conservative comment boards remain open when something bad happens to a Lefty since all the Conservatives send their prayers.

They have to shut down the comment boards when something bad happens to a Conservative on places like Slate and Salon because the Lefties gloat about it and show how sick they are.

Apparently, you can’t be a good Lefty if you’re not a good hater.

  8. Doom and Gloom says:

Wait Elwood….its is the democrats who are blaming voter fraud in 2016. That is why HRC lost. Even HRC today is claiming voter suppression caused her the election.

That is voter fraud. The Black panthers standing around precincts with ball bats is VOTER SUPPRESSION.

IN CALIFORNIA IT IS LEGAL TO HARVEST BALLOTS…..in NC IT IS NOT….therefore in NC we just had a new election and the guy caught harvesting ballots did not run and still the GOP ran and won by 24 points.

FYI…….. Ballot harvesting is the process where organized workers or volunteers–people you don’t know–collect absentee ballots from voters and drop them off at a polling place or election office. Nothing can go wrong there; right?

It makes sense that the same people who encourage ballot harvesting are against voter ID laws or having county registrars clean the voter rolls. It is not a farfetched idea to think they have ulterior motives other than getting a higher voter turnout. If they do not have an ulterior motive when they are ballot harvesting, why are they only doing that at homes they believe support their partisan interests instead of all homes to enhance the overall voter turnout? This is for purely partisan political interests; thus, it is obvious to common-sense minds that there will be fraud involved. Someone will take the process to the limit and then exceed the limit.

This is from one of your LEFTY WEBSITES not a righty one. Even they recognize the dangers this poses.

In CALIFORNIA BALLOT HARVESTING IS LEGAL….obtaining voter mail-in ballots and marking them yourselves for your candidate and then mailing them in……..so yeah There is little doubt that in the dozen or so deep-red districts in CALI that turned blue that ballot harvesting was a huge factor and should be outlawed in all states.

Why did Trump shut down the voter fraud commission? Because he realized it was a losing cause. He simply will do the same things Demos do in 2020 to fight the absurdity of Ballot harvesting.

But we thought you had evidence of 7 million fraudulent votes in CA alone?? No?

Even tRump’s own hand-picked Voter Fraud Czar, Kris K Kobach, shut down his commission for lack of results.

More like Lyin’ Ryan refused to co-operate.

But you asked for evidence. Over 1000 convictions on vote fraud is it. And 7 mil is True The Vote’s call. Judicial Watch says 16 million.

You can go to a website as easily as I can.

    Unless you’re afraid.

Like most deeply held tenets of the ConCult, widespread voter fraud is a myth.

Sure, and Jack Kennedy was elected fair and square.

You may not understand the make-up of red and blue states. Blue states have a majority of Dem voters but not exclusively Dem voters. We’re sure that CA has many thousands of wealthy GOPhers wanting to protect their tax cuts.

It also has a lot of illegals allowed to vote.

  10. Kye says:

Anyone who says there is no voter fraud is a blatant liar. Anyone who is against voter ID but for any other type of ID is a liar. When I pointed out there are districts where 105% of registered voters cast votes it proves vote fraud and anyone who says there is not is a liar.

If Fredo would say he believes vote fraud isn’t that big a problem his argument could be considered but when he denies a fact that has been used for decades he’s just a propagandizing liar.

    • formwiz says:

140% turnout in a Philly precinct?

      Yeah, it’s there.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Bonobo,

All you need to do is prove (there’s that word again) your case. Data is not the plural of anecdote.

We get it. You can’t stand that Presidents W and tRump didn’t receive more votes than their opponent.

We are all familiar with the recent election fraud in NC, committed by the GOP candidate and necessitating a new election. Is that your proof?

vox and Brennan (the guy who needed a penumbra), hardly adequate rebuttals against the admissions of Democrat politicians, boob.

You can’t stand that Presidents W and tRump didn’t receive more votes than their opponent.

No, you can’t stand it because the Constitution worked against you.

But then Willie never got a majority, either, and, with 140% turnouts and people being bused in from out of state, I suspect Zippy never did, either.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

SloBro resorts to lies and anecdotes… again.

So are you finally admitting that tRump received fewer votes than his opponent?

But President Clinton DID receive millions more votes than his opponents (HW Bush by 6 million; Bob Dole by 8 million). As did President Obama. tRump received nearly 3 million FEWER votes than Sec Clinton.

Do you have any evidence at all that millions of illegal votes were cast for President Obama, since that is how bad he beat Senators Romney (5 million) and McCain (10 million). Any evidence at all??

  11. formwiz says:

Vote fraud is going to be tougher next year.

NM is looking good, CA is promising, and MN is shaping up. What was it they said?

Democrats put the miners out of work.
    Trump brought the jobs back.

Can you say sweep? Trump won’t be nice the way Reagan was.

    And then there were 9.

Mayor Wilhelm has dropped out of the primary race.

  12. Kye says:

When Fredo sits there and denies voter fraud he makes himself look like a big dumb putz. The Democrats INVENTED voter fraud with the old Chicago adage “Vote early, vote often”. Democrats have won elections across the country by stuffing ballot boxes, harvesting votes, allowing “dead mans” votes, allowing illegals and non citizens to vote, multiple voting, busing voters outside their districts, eliminating opposition votes, “finding overlooked” votes in the trunk of cars, store rooms and under desks and their favorite: miscounting the results until they get the answer they want. It’s documented just Google it. And since it is documented saying it’s not true is not merely disingenuous but it’s a down right lie. If Fredo’s lying about this is he lying about climate change too? Or immigration? Or firearms?

Bill deassio decided to go back to New York so he can attack the problem of chocolate milk in public schools. He heard people were having fun so he knew it was a pressing problem. It’s for “the chil’ren”.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Bobo,

All it takes is evidence on your part. There is no massive voter fraud in the US. Only your anecdotes.

Not even tRump’s commission headed by Kris K. Kobach could find any evidence. It’s a right wing myth.

If Bobo is lying about voter fraud, what else is he lying about? Global warming? Immigration? Firearms?

      • formwiz says:

        Not anecdotes, boob, facts.

Facts often freely admitted by Democrat politicians and substantiated in court.

Not even tRump’s commission headed by Kris K. Kobach could find any evidence.

Did they ever say that? Or, like Mule Ears, did they have to admit it couldn’t be taken into court?

No, Lyin’ Ryan stood in the way and, without Congress, nothing was happening.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Prove (there’s that word again) it, SloBro. That’s all it takes.

You stamping your feet and having a hissy fit isn’t proof (there’s that word again).

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Bonobo,

Perhaps you hadn’t heard that most Con Men deeply held beliefs are simply not true.

      • formwiz says:

No, boob, we drown you in facts every day, until you have to change the subject to another of your lies.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

No, SloBro, you drown us in anecdotes and lies. You just type a bunch of stuff, like your hero, tRump. You’re transactional – whatever lie you can tell to get by.

Can you prove (there’s that word again) your case about voter fraud?

Do you still contend that 7 million illegal votes were cast for Clinton in CA alone?

          • Kye says:

The problem with Fredo is there is no proof that is enough. He also won’t take the time to research what he’s been informed of.

Here’s just a taste of the fraud info you can get from a little Googling.

” By Rowan Scarborough – The Washington Times – Thursday, January 26, 2017
Hillary Clinton garnered more than 800,000 votes from noncitizens on Nov. 8, an approximation far short of President Trump’s estimate of up to 5 million illegal voters but supportive of his charges of fraud.

Political scientist Jesse Richman of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, has worked with colleagues to produce groundbreaking research on noncitizen voting, and this week he posted a blog in response to Mr. Trump’s assertion.

Based on national polling by a consortium of universities, a report by Mr. Richman said 6.4 percent of the estimated 20 million adult noncitizens in the U.S. voted in November. He extrapolated that that percentage would have added 834,381 net votes for Mrs. Clinton, who received about 2.8 million more votes than Mr. Trump.”

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Bonobo,

These are not facts, but assertions.

The Washington Times article just regurgitated Richman’s estimate (guess), below.

            Even Dr. Richman said:

“The 2008 estimate is inherently uncertain. It depends upon a number of assumptions including assumptions about the validity of the survey data. Our critics have made a variety of arguments and I encourage readers to evaluate those arguments along with our responses to them. The underlying study on which the extrapolation is based has been the subject of some cogent criticisms, and this leads me to believe that the actual rate of non-citizen involvement is on the low end of our initial estimates rather than anywhere close to the high end. (So even Richman doesn’t believe the 800,000 number)

In the absence of other data, arguably an extrapolation from the earlier (2008) numbers is the best one can do. But one should recognize that this is an extrapolation fraught with a great deal of uncertainty.”

Other researchers put the rate of non-citizens voting at closer to zero.

            https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0261379415001420#bib1

If you care to read about the methodology that Dr. Richman used (2008) to support his 2014 estimate, read on:

            https://www.wired.com/2017/01/author-trumps-favorite-voter-fraud-study-says-everyones-wrong/

It was an anonymous opt-in online survey that showed 6.4% non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2% voted in 2010.
