Hot Idea: Tax Companies Which Replace Workers With Robots

  1. Artificially increase payroll cost through unrealistic, SJW minimum wage raises
  2. Companies replace workers with automation to stay in business
  3. Tax those companies

Is there anything that Democrats do not want to tax?

Fortunately, we get a new federal agency to deal with this! From the screed

To start, my plan calls for a new federal agency, the Federal Automation and Worker Protection Agency (FAWPA), to oversee automation and safeguard jobs and communities.

FAWPA would create a permitting process for any company seeking to increase automation that would displace workers. Approval of those plans would be conditioned on protecting workers; if their jobs are eliminated through automation, the company would be required to offer their workers new jobs with equal pay, or a severance package in line with their tenure at the company.

Additionally, my plan would close tax loopholes worth hundreds of billions of dollars for corporations that invest in automation and then often deduct it on their taxes, even if they know that their “investment” will likely destroy their employees’ jobs.

Lastly, my proposal would institute a “robot tax” on large companies that eliminate jobs through increased automation and fail to provide adequate replacement jobs. They’d be required to pay five years of payroll taxes up front for each employee eliminated. That revenue would go right into a new generation of labor-intensive, high-employment infrastructure projects and new jobs in areas such as health care and green energy that would provide new employment. Displaced workers would be guaranteed new jobs created in these fields at comparable salaries.

Nice! So, Companies will no longer be able to make business decisions without the approval of The People’s Committee On Robots. This will work out well, right?

  1. Wasn’t it just about a month ago when Democrats were telling everyone that taxing goods that were made by cheaper workers in other countries instead of more expensive workers in the USA ultimately were passed along to the consumer? Weren’t they just telling us that Consumers pay taxes on businesses (or countries) and that poor consumers were hardest hit? Or was that an alternate universe?

Tarrifs on China are horrible for the US consumer. Taxing robots and taxing corporations for everything up to and including energy used to produce things that Americans NEED is NOT horrible. It is awesome.

The Democrats havent met a tax they didnt like including taxing ROBOTS.

Incidently anyone heard the latest? ROOMBA takes detailed measurements of your house and sends it to a database which is then sold for money.

We are increasingly living in 1984 where nothing IS secret. Facebook is starting a dating APP because they know so much about you because people are dumb enough to give them that information. OH its innocent.

Your phone tells google you were in walmart and by GPS they can tell that you are in the electronics Aisle and not only that but you were specifially in the TV aisle. Hence you wonder why you are bombarded with Advertisements for tV’s an hour later.

It is scary. Your car now comes with GPS which is constantly telling someone your driving habits, where you go, when you go there and what route you take. Google can then zoom in on your backyard and see your remodelling your patio and voille they bombard you with advertisements for patio furniture.

How about the Democrats taxing the shit out of google and facebook who are stealing your blind and sending your information to China whom they love and hate America because all they do is hire foreign nationals to work for their company.

This is a brilliant idea. Will the last company to leave the US please turn off the lights….if they are still working that is.

Brought to you by the bunch who believe that companies exist to give people jobs.

  5. John says:

All the places that have $15 minimum wage have low unemployment rates

    • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

National unemployment rate at 3.7% as of July 2019.
Guess even a retard would consider that low.

      Lolgf retard.

    • Kye says:

Really, ALL the places, John? Like the cities of Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Newark, Camden, Trenton, Philly…I could go on. Any areas with a $15 MW that has decent employment are places like New York and Cali. that have so many HIGH PAYING JOBS the MW amounts to nothing.

But a question John. Wouldn’t $25 be better? Why do you leftist want to hurt the poor and minorities by refusing to raise the wage to $25?

    • david7134 says:

Are you aware that most contracts are indexed on the minimum wage? Don’t have a clue do you. I saw were a guy was arrested for carnal knowledge of a cow, was that you?
