Man Arrested For California Wildfire, Charged With Arson And Climate Change

It’s funny how every time there’s a wildfire the Cult of Climastrology blames “climate change’, and then we find out it was from poorly maintained electric lines or someone set the fire

Holy Fire: Man suspected of arson for California fire that put 20,000 people under evacuation

A man has been arrested in connection with the Holy Fire in California that has caused more than 20,000 people to be evacuated from their homes.

Police in Orange County have arrested suspect Forrest Gordon Clark, 51, on suspicion of arson. Mr Clark was booked into Orange County jail for two counts of felony arson, one count of felony threat to terrorise and one count of misdemeanour arrest, according to officials from the Cleveland National Forest. He has been held on $1m bail. (snip)

“This is a monster,” said Todd Spitzer, Orange County supervisor. “Who would go out with low humidity and high wind and the highest heat temperatures this time of the year…” (snip)

The suspect apparently has a strained relationship with some of his neighbours. Weeks before the fire, Mr Clark allegedly sent a message to Mike Milligan, a volunteer fire chief in the community, reading: “The place is going to burn just like you planned.”

Of course, Warmists will manufacture links that this wouldn’t be as bad without ‘climate change’, because this is what they do. In fact, there are less wildfires now. And we can’t forget environmental laws that stop the clearing of brush in a place that historically is dry and windy during certain parts of the year.

  1. Jeffery says:

Our changing climate doesn’t start fires, it usually takes a spark – a careless smoker, an arsonist, lightning, electric lines, motors, campfires etc.

Global warming is making “wildfire seasons” longer, drier and warmer, intensifying the fires, and increasing the likelihood (drier tinder catches more easily).

    From phys.org:

Global warming does not cause wildfires. The proximate cause is often human carelessness (cigarette butts, camp fires not extinguished properly, etc.), or natural, from “dry lightning” whereby a thunderstorm produces lightning but little rain. Rather, global warming exacerbates the conditions and raises the risk of wildfire.

Your link is to climate denier Marc Morono, 2012 Climate Misinformer of the Year! He formerly worked for Inhofe and then Limbaugh. His conspiracy theories are touted by Alex Jones. Can you find any scientists to support your claims?

    • Bill589 says:

Scientific evidence supports the fact that the climate has always changed.
Giving government more money and power doesn’t change that fact.

    • formwiz says:

Jeffery, you’ve got to stop starting these fires to convince people all your nonsense about global warming is real. It’s like all those face racist incidents you claim happens to you.

You’re going to get into trouble over this.

Queue idiotic ad hominem attacks in 3,2,1…

  3. Jl says:

Ad Hom already started when he went after Morano-of course he never refutes Morano, but that’s nothing new. And actually the link shows the article was written by Bjorn Lomborg, not Morano. Other than that, good job, J….

    • Jeffery says:

We’ve learned to not trust non-scientist, climate change deniers such as Morono and Lomborg. They are driven by ideology, not evidence.

  4. Jl says:

“We’ve learned to trust non-scientist….”. Also, we’ve learned that alarmists can’t put up a counter-argument to what they’ve said, so they come up with a deflection such as “non-scientist”. But the best is “they’re driven by ideology, not evidence.” They offer mountains of evidence, which in turn causes alarmists to, well…say what you just said.

  5. Jeffery says:

One can’t spend all one’s time refuting lies of known liars like Morono. Lomborg is nearly as bad.

The objective of misinformers is to carpet bomb the world with their lies and force the others to invest valuable time in fact-checking. It’s a strategy.

We hate to have to tell you this but with scientific theories there are also tipping points, where it’s unreasonable to continue to ignore the evidence. That’s where the theory of man-made global warming is today.

For most theories there exists two central criteria, empirical evidence and scientific consistency. The Earth is warming as the CO2 levels increase and this empirical finding is consistent with Svante Arrhenius’ findings over a century ago that CO2 absorbs infrared radiation.

    Anyway…

Keith Gilless is a UC Berkeley professor of forest economics and chairman of the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection. (and may know more about CA wildfires than Morono)

Gilless said the reason California’s wildfires are so destructive this year is the state’s “high heat, low relative humidity, high wind speeds and high fuel loading.” He said climate change is making these conditions more frequent.

High fuel loading may be largely from human activities, but low humidity, high heat, longer dry season are likely related to global warming.

Global warming affects the world we live in, and it seems unreasonable to still deny that.
