California Promises To Prosecute Employers Who Work With Illegal Alien Sweeps

On Capital Hill, Democrats are promising to shut the government down over illegal alien Dreamers. In California, they’re going to prosecute citizens who follow federal law

(Sacramento Bee) The state’s top cop issued a warning to California employers Thursday that businesses face legal repercussions, including fines up to $10,000, if they assist federal immigration authorities with a potential widespread immigration crackdown.

“It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know – more specifically today, employers – that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office,” state Attorney General Xavier Becerra said at a news conference. “We will prosecute those who violate the law.”

Becerra’s warning comes as fears spread of mass workplace raids following reports that immigration agents plan to target Northern California communities for deportations due in part to the state’s “sanctuary” law, which seeks to restrict local law enforcement agencies’ ability to cooperate with immigration authorities.

It’s amazing what lengths Democrats will go to protect illegal aliens. The (Illegal) Immigrant Worker Protection Act requires that employers demand a warrant from immigration officials before granting access to any worksite. No one can voluntarily share information on employees without a subpoena. Requires employers to notify their workers before a federal audit of employee records. And several other measures, all meant to protect illegal aliens.

Perhaps it’s time for federal officials to arrest politicians who are obstructing justice and protecting illegal aliens.

it’s time for federal officials to arrest politicians who disagree with the “president”

    There, fixed it for ya.

    That’s what Stalin said!

tRump has been accused of obstructing justice! Should he be arrested?

What happened to States Rights? LOL.

And here I thought that the left said “states’ rights” was just just a dog whistle for white supremacy. It gets hard to keep up with the left these days!

Of course, the left were absotively, posilutely against states’ rights when it came to immigration law enforcement in the Hazleton, Pennsylvania and Arizona cases. Now that we have a President who’d enforce rather than eviscerate immigration law, the stiletto¹ is on the other foot.

The left cheered when Kim Davis, the court clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky, refused to issue ‘marriage’ licenses for homosexual couples. Federal law is supreme, they told us. Now we can see that the left do support states’ rights, but only when such are used to weaken rather than strengthen our country.²

The left cheered when the Obama Administration used Title IX to force schools to treat boys who think they’re girls as real girls, rather than mentally ill boys.³

Why, I bet Jeffrey would even claim to be a Feminist.â„¢

¹ – I chose the word ‘stiletto’ because we all know that only pussies, not any real men, support illegal immigration.
² – Again, we see that no real men support such things, because men support strength, not weakness.
³ – Here we see the difference between males, many of whom are liberals, and men, none of whom support the nonsense notion that girls will be boys, and boys will be girls, it’s a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world.

      It’s called obstruction of justice.

        Dana,

So you do acknowledge the hypocrisy on the right on this issue?

If both the left and right only support “state’s rights” when it suits their political purposes, what’s the answer?

The answer is for Congress to do its job and solve this issue. They wouldn’t over the past 8 yrs and President Obama stepped in. They wouldn’t over the past year and tRump stepped in.

Perhaps Congress will do their job and grant the “Dreamers” permanent resident status. tRump is struggling with how to do the right thing without angering his white nationalist base who support the immediate deportation of these residents.

What is the benefit to America of deporting these folks?

Requiring warrants and subpoenas? Does that seem too onerous a burden on the Federal police?

    • Partly yes, partly no. Federal law takes precedence over state law, and Los Federales are tasked by the Constitution to deal with immigration.

But, I’ve long stated that federal detainers should be turned into actual warrants.

What it does seem to be is a restriction of speech.

California is demanding that people and companies not speak about, report or cooperate if they choose with law enforcement on the issue of a crimes.

I can’t see how any court can say that the state has a compelling interest in this at all. First, immigration is a Federal, not state issue. Secondly, the state is saying “don’t report people who are breaking the law.”

Supposedly ICE is going raid San Francisco, just re-target the raid onto Los Angeles. Then leak they are going to further raid Los Angeles and raid San Diego. Then “target” San Francisco again, and actually raid San Francisco….lib heads exploding statewide.
