Humans Are Making ‘Climate Change’ Accelerate 170 Times More Than Nature Or Something

If by this the Cult of Climastrology means “manufacturing, smoothing, adjusting, and making it up out of nowhere”, then, yeah

We’re Accelerating Climate Change 170 Times Faster Than Nature, Says a New Study
Natural elements are “negligible” compared to human influence.

There are people who deny climate change altogether. Then there are people who claim that, yes, climate change exists, but humans are barely affecting it, because it would happen anyway.

Yeah, all of the aforementioned people are wrong, according to a brand new equation developed by scientists.

The Australian National University announced on Sunday that, according to recent research, humans are causing the climate to change a whopping 170 times faster than it would naturally. According to the researchers, evidence shows that greenhouse gas emission caused by humans over the past 45 years has affected temperatures at a rate that “dwarf[s] the natural background rate.”

Said Will Steffen, a climate change expert and ANU professor, in a statement:

“Over the past 7,000 years the primary forces driving change have been astronomical — changes in solar intensity and subtle changes in orbital parameters, along with a few volcanoes. They have driven a rate of change of 0.01 degrees Celsius per century.”

By comparison, humans have increased the rate of temperature rise to 1.7 degree Celsius per century.

Right off the bat, we see shoddy science. There have been multiple cooling and warming periods throughout the last 7,000 years. Furthermore, we’re only talking about a 1C or less increase in supposed global temperatures since 1850. that’s sure a lot less then 1.7 per century, is it not?

What they’re attempting to do here is wipe away all the previous warm and cool periods in the Holocene, making it seem as everything was hunky dory right up to the time period they want, which seems to be the last 45 years. Which, interestingly, would including a period of slight cooling and a long term Pause, where the warming has shown to be either statistically insignificant or zero, depending on the data.

Why would we think that people who have a vested interest, monetarily and otherwise, in perpetuating their cause would ever stop?

Interesting in that satellite data show little to no warming in past 18yrs. When you use thermometers to measure the rate of change, it’s disingenuous to compare it to past changes when thermometers weren’t around. The exactness is no where near the same. Sorta like when the stopwatch was first invented and used to clock a sprint. “That’s the fastest anyone’s ever run!” Well, yah, because we don’t know to the same degree how fast they ran prior to the stopwatch

    WRONG! More ‘alternative facts’?

UAHv5.6 TLT shows 0.209 C/decade over the past 18 years.

RSSv4.0 TTT shows 0.197 C/decade over the past 18 years.

for comparison, NOAA (land/sea) shows 0.196 C/decade over the past 18 years.

While it’s convenient for your argument to throw your hands up and declare the science too difficult, that’s not how scientists operate. You know, curiosity and all that. Don’t let ‘the perfect’ be the enemy of the ‘good’ or the ‘best available’. The best available evidence at this time supports the hypothesis that the Earth’s mean global surface temperature has increased the past century or so. The evidence also supports the hypothesis that the primary cause is the increase in atmospheric CO2, which comes from we humans burning fossil fuels.

Uh, that’s a talking point, little guy.
The evidence isn’t there, if it was you should be able to provide it.
      You don’t because you can’t.

    .

For the past fifty years the RATE of increase is equivalent to 1.7 degree centigrade per century. Short of a monstrous caldera eruption(s), nuclear winter (more likely with a trump) or an asteroid strike, it’s likely the rate will continue.

    Little Crotch Sniffer,

It’s only been known for 100 years, so it’s no surprise you hadn’t yet sniffed it out. Your great grand puppies will understand the concept well, as crotches will be even warmer and doubtless more aromatic for the little sniffers.

Surprisingly, even though great scientists like Don Trump, Rush Limbaugh and Teach claim that global warming is a hoax, in over a century, no one has been able to poke a hole in Arrhenius’ original hypothesis. In fact, data keeps accumulating that supports the hypothesis.

Once again, you know that is not proof of man made global warming, little guy.
Sorry you get so angry but losing does that to lying liberals it seems.

“The rate of increase is 1.7degree C. per century.” Except that we don’t have any idea If would keep going for a whole century, and we don’t know what the rates were in prior centuries to the same degree. Other than that, the same clown circus continues.

  6. Jl says:

“No one has been able to poke a hole in Arrhenius’ original hypothesis.” And Arrhenius’s original hypothesis thought more CO2 would be beneficial to the earth. Thanks for making out point, J. From what I’ve seen, he also didn’t factor in water vapor.
