University Of Missouri President Resigns, Yale Losing Their Minds

Two interesting stories

(Yahoo Sports) University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe has resigned.

Wolfe announced his decision during a Board of Curators meeting on the Univeristy of Missouri-Columbia campus on Monday.

And

(Daily Caller) Last week, a real-life South Park episode somehow took place within the very prestigious confines of Yale University.

In the lead-up to Halloween, Yale Dean Burgwell Howard sent out an email requesting that students do not engage in “cultural appropriation” when it comes to costume choice. That message prompted a very mild rebuke from the Associate Master of Silliman College Erica Christakis.

If you’re not fully familiar with these two stories, I’d suggest taking a moment to read both links, maybe take a cruise around others for more detail. More from the Daily Caller article, which I read earlier in the morning

This safety argument has allowed these precious snowflake totalitarians to suppress speech on campus. Free speech means nothing to them when it comes at the price of exposing their fragile little minds to ideas they don’t like. Thanks to spineless administrators that rush to appease each and every need of designated minority groups, activists are able to get away with this inane rationale for censorship.

But, from the comments at the Yahoo Sports story

Universities have been encouraging and enabling this kind of behavior, its about time they have to deal with the little monsters they created!

That was my exact thought this morning. Institutions of higher learning were pushing the politically correct mentality and enforcing it way back in the 1990’s, getting more and more extreme each year. Now, they are reaping what they’ve sown.

Maybe that black guy can eat now and the football team can lose another game.

Yes Teach Universities are liberal and have been for many years. Why they even supported M.L. King way back when conservatives were calling him a communist and racial agitator.
These liberal universities have been leftist and liberal for decades. Sort of like Blair, that is just the way that the smarties roll.
Doing things like striving for diversity tsk tsk, positively commie to some

Looks like ‘tarded johnny’s out on release from the nervous hospital and hitting the bong early and hard.

    John,
How would you know about universities? It is not apparent that you were ever there unless doped up.

  5. jl says:

John- How is what’s described above in the story have anything to do with diversity? It’s anti-diversity. Re-read comments #3 and #4.

“Associate Master of Silliman College Erica Christakis.” I believe there is a misspelling of the college. The accurate spelling would be “Sillyman”.

  7. Conservative Beaner says:

    John,

It was the Kennedys and LBJ calling him a Commie and they were wire tapping him to get any dirt to shut him up.

Colleges are anything but liberal today. They are now hot beds of totalitarianism and students who run to mommy and daddy when they hear or see anything outside their narrow view of the world.

  8. Hoss says:

Beaner beat me to giving Johnny a history lesson. When Johnny gets outside of his talking-points he’s a lot like Obama without his teleprompter: totally fucking lost.

Nothing more delicious than listening to professors complain about the stifling politically correct environment they helped create, or the leftist comedians (Seinfeld, Rock, et al) who won’t play the campi anymore because at how humorless the places have become. Not a whole lot of introspection going on there.

Shows you the power in the athletic department – a football coach sides with his players and the Prez and Chancellor are gone.

I guess they’re trying to build a university their football team can be proud of!

The first amendment guarantees the right of white guys in pickups to drive around and call Black men “niggers”. These Black snowflakes just need to read the Constitution as carefully as the rednecks do. The 2nd Amendment also guarantees that the white guys shouting “nigger” also can carry a gun.

  11. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
Can you point out anywhere that whites are going around and calling people nigger, except for you. I have not seen anything that suggest that something of that nature is happening, but your mind clearly does not deal with reality.

Well, perhaps you can tell us how riding around in a Dodge or Chevy pickup — it couldn’t have been a Ford, because while Dodge and Chevy make pickups, Ford builds trucks! — calling random black people niggers is against the law. It might be offensive, and it might be stupid, but unless there is an actual threat made, it isn’t illegal.

Further, this (alleged) incident happened near but still off campus. How, exactly, does former President Wolfe have any responsibility or authority concerning things which happened off campus?

But, let us assume, for the moment, that the perpetrators of this horrible, awful name-calling event were Mizzou students; does the University have the authority to expel students even if they are racists, for something which harmed no one and happened off-campus? What actions could the President of a public university take here?

  13. Dana says:

In the meantime, Student Government President Payton Head has been identified with this movement. At some point in the not-too-distant future, Mr Head will be graduated, and have to do something really radical like go out into the real world and get a job. Any responsible HR is going to Google search his name — and his name is fairly uncommon — and find stories connected with this incident. I a world in which Mr Head is competing with other applicants who have similar education and training and résumés, he’s going to have “Troublemaker” stamped all over his applications, and a sensible corporation will choose to hire someone else.

He may have been a leader in getting President Wolfe resigned, but, in a form of karmic justice, he’ll be unable to get a decent job himself. At least Dr Wolfe (probably) has a large bank account and a hefty golden parachute to his credit; Mr Head has only a Chicago ghetto in his background.
