The Cult Of Climastrology Gets Another Scalp

Remember the case of French meteorologist Philippe Verdier, who was supposedly suspended for daring to write a book critical of the Cult of Climastrology? Well, now we learn

Philippe Verdier, a household name in France for his daily weather reports on the France 2 channel, announced in an online video that he had received a letter of dismissal.

“My book ‘Climate Investigation’ was published one month ago. It got me banned from the air waves,” said the weatherman, who was put “on leave” from the TV station on October 12.

“I received this letter this morning and decided to open it in front of you because it concerns everybody- in the name of freedom of expression and freedom of information.”

And here I thought WWII was over, but I see the Nazi’s are still controlling the media in France.

  2. Jeffery says:

Do you think an EPA chief under a Republican administration would have a job for long if she started writing op-eds criticizing the administration’s approach on global warming?

Or a diplomat who writes a book blasting the administration’s foreign policy?

How about an Exxon exec who makes the rounds on Sunday TV asserting that Exxon was responsible for global warming?

Or a public grade school teacher who insists on teaching creationism instead of evolution theory.

The dishonest, discredited, odious and often illiterate Jeffery has tried this line of thought before and was shot down.

While this event took place in France, here in the US this writing would absolutely legal as the book was not published under the umbrella of the television station or the government.

For example, a person in the military can write a book, an op-ed, or even appear at a rally to speak against policies as long as they do not appear in uniform. They are still allowed freedom of speech, but are not allowed to make it seem their views are that of the military.

There have been cases where college professors have written op eds on how bad the college at which they are teaching is. Courts have ruled that type of speech is legal as the person is not speaking on behalf of the college.

Under Jeffery’s theory, whistleblowers could be terminated for speaking out against policies or actions of a company.

Jeffery and people of his ilk think that because a person works and gets a paycheck from a company or the government that the employer owns the thoughts and speech of that employee. They do not.

But being that Jeffery likes the idea of slavery, he believes that people and their thoughts belong to a company.

As usual, Jeffery is wrong on principle, and wrong on the law.

The guttercrawleronce again slithers out of its slimy, dark, dank, fetid hole to hissss a collection of untruths.

No one said the weatherman’s writings were illegal. We’re not sure in which confederate state the crawler keeps his gutter, but it’s quite likely an employment at will state where employers can dismiss an employer for any reason except those specifically protected by the big, bad federal government or by specific contracts.

Unelected, non-civil service administration officials largely serve at the pleasure of their president and can be dismissed on a whim.

The guttercrawler is trying to mislead you with his lies.

Why? Because it abhors reason and science and anyone who doesn’t.

It’s so funny watching Jeffery try to refute truths.

The fact of the matter is Jeffery even in right to work states, people still have a right to speech outside of their positions. Both courts and the EEOC have ruled that the firing for cause must be related to the job somehow.

Secondly, because facts are difficult for Jeffery to deal with, the weather person in question works for a state run station. While I don’t know as much about French law, in the US his speech would be protected no matter what his terms of employment are. This is due to the fact that his speech was not tied to the station, he was not speaking as a representative of the station or the government, his speech is protected and because the speech deals with a political issue, it gets even more protection than non-political speech.

Thirdly, the man is a contracted employee. He is not an “at will” employee.

So once again, Jeffery wants to make people slaves of the state or a company. He thinks that a paycheck buys people even when they are not working.

No wonder Jeffery is a democrat. He fits right in with their support of slavery and indentured servitude. He wants more people to depend on the state.

Furthermore, it seems rather interesting that for all his blathering about “welcoming debate on climate issues,” Jeffery is applauding the illegal action of the French government to stifle any dissent or contrarian views. Jeffery and people of his ilk are afraid of honest debate as we have seen in this forum time and time again.

In the dishonest, discredited, odious and often illiterate mind of Jeffery, a “discussion” is when he speaks and the rest of the world cannot disagree.

Of course, Jeffery thinks his wife is delusional, so one has to expect his projection onto others.

      Git,

At least lil’ jeffy the nameless one has stopped calling you a fluffer.

The guttercrawler comes back for more, hissing about this “forum”, LOL. It means its “cesspool” where it loves to wallow, hoping to trap someone or some thing to satisfy its perverted need for attention.

    drowningpuppies,

Yeah, it is clear that Jeffery has real issues and really wants to be in the porn industry.

Maybe that is part of the fantasy world he lives in.

He certainly can’t debate worth a darn and facts drive him crazy.
