Surprise: Monetary Redistribution Plan Is Super Important For Upcoming Paris Climate Change Talks

I know you’re completely shocked by this notion

West must pay up to secure deal at Paris climate change summit, warns Fabius
French minister says COP21 climate conference’s success in curbing emissions requires rich nations to fulfil earlier funding pledges to finance poor countries

Is it really necessary to excerpt anything beyond the headline and subhead? They say it all.

Rich countries must keep their financial promises to the poor on global warming, or key international climate change negotiations this year risk falling apart, the French foreign minister will warn his counterparts in other developed nations this weekend. (snip)

At the last major climate summit, in Copenhagen in 2009, the developing world was promised financial flows of at least $100bn (£65bn) a year by 2020, but in many cases the money has been slow in coming.

Laurent Fabius, the French foreign minister, who will preside over the Paris talks, said this aid would be the key issue.

“The question of financing is, in fact, decisive for reaching an agreement in Paris,” he said.

“The promise of Copenhagen must be kept, absolutely – it is the basis of trust, and for many countries it is the condition of reaching agreement. Therefore, it is a priority as president [of the negotiations].”

Funny how the solutions to “solving climate change” always seem to revolve around hardcore Leftist policy prescriptions, don’t you think?

Personally, I can’t wait to hear about the number of private jets and fossil fueled flights, along with all the limos which have horrible gas mileage, taken to the Paris climate change talks this December.

These Environazis lifted nary a finger to help the poor when they were starving all over the world.

They lifted nary a finger now that ISIS is beheading and raping women and children and destroying antiquities all over the middle east.

But by god you better pony up for Climate change……..

    WHY?

Because there is money to be made in grants and endowments to study climate change.

Because they want to be sure that all their hedge fund buddies get lucrative contracts to build windmills in Darfur where they all starved to death but of course windmills will feed the starving over there.

This is our cue to /roll eyes, sigh hopelessly and wonder how people can be so gullible as to actually think ANY of this money is going to end up actually really helping any poor nation.

  2. Liam Thomas says:

Progressives always call me clueless and delusional about the billionaires cashing in on climate change.

    to wit:

Since climate change affects electricity in some regions, technology is being built to accommodate these issues. The Gates Foundation has invested in the Omniprocessor that not only produces clean water from human waste but also generates electricity without exerting carbon emissions.

Bill GATES Democratic Billionaire. Imagine that. His foundation is building expensive units that does the above.

Manufactured by Janicki Bioenergy, the proof of concept model was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The S100 prototype model costs about $1.5 million, can produce 10,800 liters of drinking water and 100 kW net electricity per day. A larger model under development, the S200, is designed to handle the waste from 100,000 people, produce 86,000 litres of drinking water per day and 250 kW net output electricity. These systems are designed to provide a “self-sustaining bioenergy” process.[5][6]

Now this is super awesome. Im all for this. The problem once again remains…….How exactly is this going to help curtail global warming?

Additionally the cost would be staggering just to aid all the poor nations of the world with this technology but it would certainly help another progressive billionaires bottom line in the name of climate change.

Is this not more a target of helping poor nations? Why does it have to be under the fake notion that its to solve global warming?

To answer my own question. Would it not be because progessive left will not lift a finger to help poor people unless there is money to be made for their billionaire sponsors.

Theres no money to be made in helping the poor….but there is a ton of money to be made in climate change mitigation.

Its almost sad that the climate change flunkies have been so decieved by their own movement into actually believing that these scientists and billionaires give a flying flip about the climate…..

The only thing they give a flying flip about is their bottom line.

How does producing electricity for third world nations without emitting CO2 help slow global warming? Is that a serious question?

Additionally the cost would be staggering just to aid all the poor nations of the world with this technology but it would certainly help another progressive billionaires bottom line in the name of climate change.

What makes you think it should be cheap to electrify third world nations? Why do you hate capitalism? Or do you just hate progressive capitalists?

Would the world be better off if Bill and Melinda Gates didn’t invest their billions in new technologies that help the poor?

Do you think it’s fair that the West developed our wealthy societies based on fossil fuels, causing the Earth to warm, not to mention destroying ecosystems, and then tell the third world, “sucks to be you!”? Does the West have any responsibility?

The Earth is warming from CO2 that humans are adding to the atmosphere. We were mistaken that we could add unlimited CO2 to the atmosphere without consequences.

  5. Jeffery says:

And I thought environmental remediation was going to destroy economies. Now you’re worried that it will stimulate economic growth.

These kinds of contradictory positions are diagnostic for conservative thought where an ideological conclusion is reached and defended independent of evidence.

To you, global warming is a conspiracy for the CommunoNazis to take over the world. Nothing else matters as long as you can block that takeover. (I’m assuming you are serious about your conspiracy ideation and not just using right-wing invective and hyperbole).

  6. Liam Thomas says:

Capitalism pays off when their are profits. There is no profit in helping the poor unless SOMEONE pays….As in Governments ponying up huge sums.

So why the dog and pony show? This is about helping the poor. There is no profit in helping the poor.

Ergo they must make it about climate change in order for the governments to pony up monies.

Bill Gates, George Soros and Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerman oh and lets not forget how Zuckerman and Google want to bring wifi to the restless natives in sub sahara so I can easily see why the IPCC needs 150 billion dollars to pay for all this absolutely needed infrastructure to feed and clothe the poor people.

This is absolutely a Keystone cops episode as the billionaires line up for their so called capitalistic ventures paid for by the government.

Remember Progressives are communists. They have a plan and that plan is the hostile take over of the capitalist corporation in a proxy battle of epic proportions.

Either Way Bill Gates, George Soros, Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerman still get to make money….because after all they bankrolled the whole thing with the aid of stupid countries who were bullied into pony’ing up monies to hasten their own plunge.

Remember the goal of socialism is communism….Vladimir Lenin.

  7. Dana says:

How very fortunate we are that, regardless of what cockamamie promises our President may make concerning this stuff, not one last bit of it will get through the Congress.

Of course, the foreign leaders all know that; why they would accept the promises of a President who can’t keep them is beyond me.
