Hooray! Obama Says His Red Line Is World’s Red Line

I’m not sure if the word “shameless” is strong enough. SCOAMF might work

(CNN) President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the red line he outlined last year regarding Syria’s use of chemical weapons came from international treaties and past congressional action, and now it is time for the international community to make good on its opposition to the banned armaments.

“I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line,” Obama told reporters on the first day of a four-day trip to Sweden and Russia to attend a G-20 summit in St. Petersburg.

Like most, I was flabbergasted when I heard this live.

More on this at Twitchy. Obama also said that it wasn’t his credibility on the line, in response to a direct question

“My credibility is not on the line, the international community’s credibility is on the line,” he responds.

He also said Congress’ credibility is on the line. Interestingly, Sweden hasn’t rushed out to go bomb Syria. Or even noted that they’re interested. Nor have any other nations.

I was also disappointed that Obama slouched and leaned on the podium virtually the entire time. Rather embarrassing.

Just like no individual built a business, he didn’t build the red line. Someone else, in this case the world, did. It’s not his individual credibility on the line, just Congress and the world.

Even though he is, according to himself, the smartest person in the room, he makes policy decision better, writes better speeches, consolidates intelligence briefings better, nothing he does or says comes from himself, just the “greater world” or country.

    A narcissist to the extreme.

Hey, he fixed Libya Eeyore. He’s got that. And he did that while fixing USA. He did it so well, we are now called USofO.

came from international treaties and past congressional action

Ummmmmmm…… those same treaties that say to not make war? to not have or make chemical weapons… of which we have and do?

Treaties that say not to attack other countries without cause,… of which Obama is trying to do in Syria? And we did with Libya?

Just when I think Obama can’t embarrass the US any more… he does it. Slouching and leaning are FAR from being presidential when giving an international speech. I can understand it on a local stage, but not when overseas giving a televised international speech.

Israel wants Obama to use force to eliminate the WMD Why is your Obama hatred throwing israel under the bus?

  4. gitarcarver says:

The Pentagon estimates that to secure the chemical wrapons, it will take 75,000 troops.

Now john can rant all he wants to about throwing Israel uner the bus, bur given that the Administration has said such a force level will not be used, it is Obams throwing Israel under the bus.

Once again though this fiasco we have seen Obama cannot lead nor take respondibility.

    He is an empty suit.

also, what does Israel have to do with it John? So far, Syria is not impacting Israel. They only say, that IF, IF, a military action is conducted that it be larger than small pinpoint strikes because they fear that Syria will retaliate or the terrorists will gain hold over the WMDs and use them.

Israel is fearful of this because they know that they will not be afraid of responding in force. If Israel is attacked in retaliation to our use of force, they will bomb the stinking crap out of Syria. They don’t really want to, but they will.

Thus, why should the US stir the pot up and rile up the regime and insurgents up?

    Why do you john?
