Updated To WordPress 3.4.1 – Anyone See Issues?

Been awhile since I did a WordPress update, figured I do it since I’m off today. The theme looks OK in a few different browsers (though is still a tiny bit off in Chrome. Always will be, otherwise broken in most others). Looks like plugins are working. Anyone see anything funky?

Every time I write an article, I have to check it to make sure that WordPress sent out the trackbacks and pings; it has been somewhat unreliable on that.

    yep.

  4. I usually post then click update a couple minutes later, Dana. Been having that prob with WP for years.

I’ve been running 3.4.1 since it was first released. I have had no problems with it, other than the trackback/ping problem. That particular issue has been around for quite some time.

I have been on 3.4.1 for some time and have had no issues.

But now that you have upgraded to 3.4.1, aren’t you glad 3.4.2 is now out?

    heh heh heh

  7. Yeah, I saw that on the dashboard this morning and obviously said “WTF!”

Sadly, I have seen newer WP break things, and break them badly. I once used a theme based on Fall Leaves, and excellent fluid width theme that I worked hard to turn into a 3 column theme and do all sorts of wild things to. WP 2.something killed it. Killed others, and fluid width 3 column are not easy to find, especially where the post area loads before sidebars

Somewhere along the line with updates I lost two plugins that I really like. It is frustrating, but sometimes I wonder how much of the new upgrades are security related.

So far I have been lucky with no theme blowups, but you never know.

    Hang in there.

  9. WP has been pretty stable since about 2.8 or so, haven’t lost a plugin or theme since. But, I could actually shut some plugins down, such as threaded comments, since WP does that now. Heck, I remember when had to use a plugin to have videos.
