Sign The US Oil Drilling Petition!

This isn’t just any petition, folks: it is one sponsored on the official White House website. I mentioned this a while ago, was waiting for it to go live, went live Thursday (unshockingly, the majority of petitions are about doing away with drug laws)

Welcome to We the People on WhiteHouse.gov. This tool provides you with a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.

The petition needs to get at least 5,000 signatures within 30 days of going live, so, October 24th. Said petition is

Open up AMWR, the Gulf Of Mexico, and other places to domestic oil drilling, along with new refineries.

The United States needs to produce it’s own oil and do away with our reliance on foreign sources. It is imperative that we open up those areas within US property to domestic drilling and production, as well as building new refineries.

Please go and sign. Unfortunately, this also looks like a way for the WH to data mine, since you must be registered and signed in. But, it’s worth it if we can get enough signatures!

stupid website doesn’t like my firefox. refused to accept my sign-in… had to go back to IE. ick on both accounts.

only 7 signatures at this point?

heh.. huge banner about the jobs bill… with link that states, “READ THE BILL”. glad they are allowing us to read it first before passing it.

  2. I’m going to pimp it out to some of the big wigs to push, hopefully they will help out. Saturday evening’s probably not the best time to start the petition.
