Seriously, how else can one read this?
JERUSALEM — Gaza was quiet Friday after five days of fighting in which Hamas completed its conquest of the Gaza Strip from its Fatah rivals.
The West Bank and Gaza territories that President Bush said he wanted to see become an independent Palestinian state before he left office appeared torn asunder.
Torn asunder. Bush’s fault. BDS. Why else include W but to blame him in some way, or at least to implicate and associate him with what seems to be typical Islamic extremist activities?
The rest of the story seems to portray Hamas, a true terrorist group, as peaceful, and that there will be no more fighting. They finally get around to mentioning the terrorist aspect on page 2 of the internet story, but only as others call them terrorists
The United States, Israel and the European Union consider Hamas, which seeks Israel’s destruction, a terrorist group. But it may be very difficult for the United States and the European Union to stop aiding the 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza, no matter who their rulers, and divert all aid through Abbas, who would have little influence in Gaza.
I’m glad we have the NY Times around to tell us what others think about Hamas. What does the Times think of Hamas?
Islam Shahwan, a spokesman for the Hamas militia, told Hamas radio triumphantly: â€The era of justice and Islamic rule have arrived.â€
Will the Times get what that means?
OK don’t blame Bush. Cheer him for his many splendid foreign policy achievments.
How is what’s happening in Gaza his fault, John? This has been going on for decades. Heck, there has been inter-religious fighting going on between Muslims for hundreds of years.
