Bush and Blair’s March To War

Another story of Liberals quoting Liberals, with the headline "Iraq: Blair and Bush were ready for war from January 2003."

LONDON (AFP) – US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair were ready to go to war against Iraq with or without a second UN resolution, Britain’s Channel 4 News television claimed.

The allegation was based on a White House memo — which the programme said it had seen — following a meeting between the two men in Washington on January 31, 2003.

First, Bush and Blair would have been irresponsible if they weren’t ready. Of course, in Liberal World, all threats of force should be empty suits. Second, will any of these Surrender Monkey groups show us said document? We have heard about it for awhile, yet, where is it? Because what follows in the story is straight MoveOn/Daily Kosbat/Howard Dean loonacy.

No need to cite anything else in the story, just more of the "Bush wanted to attack Iraq no matter what, and Tony Blair was his puppet." The author has left it up to the reader to insert their own reasoning, ie, oil, cause Saddam tried to have his pappy killed, oil, because he could, etc.

It would be nice if the "reality based community" actually lived within reality once in awhile.

You sure you did’nt get that Poly Sci degree via mail order?

-What the guardian article (http://politics.guardian.co.uk/iraq/story/0,,1700881,00.html) also states:

“A memo of a two-hour meeting between the two leaders at the White House on January 31 2003 – nearly two months before the invasion – reveals that Mr Bush made it clear the US intended to invade whether or not there was a second UN resolution and even if UN inspectors found no evidence of a banned Iraqi weapons programme.

“Should Saddam Hussein choose confrontation, the American people can know that every measure has been taken to avoid war, and every measure will be taken to win it.” GWB,(3/17/03)

  2. yes, the same “memo” that no one else has physically seen.
