Remembering 9/11

Last year, for the 2996 Project, I remembered Brook Alexandra Jackman on this site, and Andrew H. Golkman at the American Flag League. Rather then putting together another video for this year, I would rather just repost 911Plus5. The photos never fail to bring a tear to my eye. But let us also remember the people, our neighbors, who were lost that day fondly.

We can remember them by saying "never again." We can remember them by not allowing the Muslim fanatics, who have the stated intention of destroying modern civilization, to do just that. We can remember them by rebuilding. We can remember them by resisting those who would have a 9/10 mentality. We can make their lost lives meaningful.

At 8:35, take a moment to say a prayer. At the former site of the World Trade Center, firefighters will read the names of all the victims.

For those who just do not believe, perhaps the words of one of the hijackers might change your mind

Al Qaeda traditionally issues a video every year on the anniversary, with the last testament of one of the 19 hijackers involved in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. This year’s video showed hijacker Waleed al-Shehri, addressing the camera and warning the U.S.: "We shall come at you from your front and back, your right and left."

There is some video of it at CNN.

Others with posts up: Are We Lumberjacks?, Blogs For Bush, the Gun Toting Liberal, Hooah Wife, The Jawa Report, Michelle Malkin, Six Meat Buffet, Wizbang, Ogre’s Politics and Views, Blue Star Chronicles (I’m thinking Bloglines is way behind. Individual visits finding lots of great posts).

Charles at Little Green Footballs has a special header up for the anniversary. Civil Truth at And Rightly So! has a haiku, and Raven has her tribute up. At MY Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, start with this post, then go home and read all the tributes by Beth, Beth, and Vinnie, and Merri. Also see this one by Merri on her site. Cassandra at Villainous Company has Memory. Texas Fred has his, plus lots of great links. Carol has her tribute up, as does 123 Beta.

I’d like to continue linking, but, work calls. Sigh.

I was born and raised in New York and I still live here today. I can remember those buildings being build,. and I can remember how empty I felt when I saw them fall. And how I felt when I saw those poor people jumping and falling to their deaths.
I will never forget 9/11. I will support Iraqi Freedom, not because I believe in war, but we can not succumb to terrorism. we must fight it like we fought every other enemy. People all over the world deal with this daily and it must stop. There is NO other way. to end to this horror. There is no other way for us to survive . Until they are stopped, we must continue to liberate others and protect our freedom. I love this country and I will do anything to protect it. Our thoughts are still with all the victim’s and their families that gave their lives and today we show our appreciation for what they went through. . Please, let’s remember them and never forget them. Thank You to everyone who has lived their life so that our world can be a better place
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ?. when I first heard that song I agreed with everything that he says in that song.. like the song says “people always say that we don’t need this war but you know what “we didn’t get to keep this piece of ground by backing down” and you know what he is right because thousands of people died that day, we lost friends and family that day all because of terrorists and that Son of a bitch Bin laden…. also like the song says “you say we shouldn’t worry about Bin laden” in my heart if it were me fighting in the war it would be worth while because knowing about what happened that day and fighting for my country because of someone so evil like that I would know “just what i’m fighting for”. AND for those who don’t agree with this war I have one question for you, “HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN”? And one more thing, I want to thank all the Brave members of our troops who are out there fighting for this beautiful country that we live in. GOD BLESS THE U.S.A
My thoughts and prayers are with the families and survivors of 9/11. As I sit here and listen to all those names being read, and see all those people standing in the rain and looking so sad and crying. How could you not remember?
I just pray that we never forget that day. I know that I won’t.
