We just learned about this
and yet Governor Kathy wants to protect illegals
Governor Hochul provides update on immigration enforcement proposals, with mixed reaction
State lawmakers passed a third and fourth budget extender this week, pushing back the State Budget deadline until April 20th, nearly three weeks past the April 1st due date.
As lawmakers on Thursday passed the most recent extension, Governor Kathy Hochul presented her side of the immigration debate, formally voicing support for a mask ban on immigration enforcement officials.
“I want to make sure that ICE agents can no longer hide behind a mask while violating innocent Americans, proposing a ban on face coverings for State, local and Federal law enforcement officers,” the Governor said. “They’ll no longer be able to conceal their identities while interacting with the public. They had not done it before, other federal agencies like FBI and DEA, they don’t do it. Local law enforcement doesn’t do it. So, why should ICE have the ability to do something that we otherwise don’t allow for other individuals law enforcement? So if you’re enforcing the law, you should not be hiding from that.”
But, Antifa and other Demo voting loons can still wear face coverings as they commit mayhem and violence, eh, Kathy?
The Governor’s proposal mirrors legislation proposed in July by Albany State Senator Pat Fahy (D) and Manhattan Assemblymember Tony Simone (D), called the Mandating End of Lawless Tactics (MELT) Act (S.8462 Fahy/A.8908 Simone). That legislation would also ban the use of face coverings along with plainclothes by ICE and other federal enforcement agents during civilian immigration actions conducted in New York State.
“We need to make a strong statement, armed masked federal agents doing what appear to be abductions on our city streets, our main streets is just unacceptable, and this is New York,” Fahy told CBS6 on Thursday. “Here in New York, we value transparency. We have spent hundreds of millions in helping local and state enforcement agencies buy the body cams because it helps protect the agents, the law enforcement agent, as well as individuals on the street in these encounters. So transparency matters. The other thing is, when you have armed masked agents on our streets unidentified, you are undermining local law enforcement, and anyone local or state will tell you, you need community interaction and support in order to solve crime. So it is just no longer a viable excuse for not having full transparency.”
And calling lawful detainment of illegal aliens “abductions” entices the wacko element of the Dem party to go loony against federal agents. You know, maybe it was a really bad idea to back Biden as he let millions of illegals in, let millions of fake asylum seekers in, and millions on TPS, adding to the tens of millions already here, because it meant that Trump would go full bore on allowing federal law enforcement to go after them in massive operations. Of course, they didn’t think Trump would get elected (again).
Oh, and good luck with the mask thing. You have not the power.

Mr Teach supports government law “enforcement” agents wearing disguises. So anyone can pretend to be law enforcement? Good to know.
Everyone should be armed at all times.
Not only is your comment meaningless it’s stupid too.
Couldn’t find a relevant C&P huh, Rimjob?
Bwaha! Lolgf Loser!

So, what are the scare quotes around “enforcement” supposed to mean? Is our open borders Ozarkian suggesting that it is not genuine law enforcement to arrest people in our country illegally? The last I knew, a major part of Immigration and Customs Enforcements’ job was to enforce our immigration laws.
Of course, had the dummkopf from Delaware allowed ICE and the Border Patrol to do their jobs during his four miserable years in office, there’d be far fewer illegals in the country that ICE needed to arrest. Had he and his crackpot from California “border tsar” actually done their f(ornicating) jobs when it came to illegal immigration, they’d have deprived the Maestro from Mar-a-Lago of his more important campaign issue, and who knows, perhaps Mrs Emhoff would be President today.
During his first term, President Trump set in place all of the machinery to enforce our immigration laws and greatly reduce the inflow of illegals; that work was already done for Joe Biden, and if he’d had just retained those policies of his predecessor, his predecessor might not also be his successor today.
Barack Hussein Obama (allegedly) said of his Vice President, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f(ornicate) things up.” Well, one thing is beyond doubt: as President, Mr Biden and the young wokesters running his White House as the President sank ever-more-deeply into dementia did indeed f(ornicate) things up! Remember: Mr Biden was well behind Mr Trump in the polls even before the June 27th debate.
Anyone can already impersonate law enforcement, and if caught doing so will be arrested and charged.
Given the propensity of the Left to resort to violence, ICE and other law enforcement officers are at risk of being stalked and assassinated and their families attacked. Allowing them to protect their personal identities while doing their jobs is only common sense (which of course makes it unacceptable to the criminal Left who wants to make it easier to commit their political terrorism).
So how many ICE agents have been killed by the violent left since King Donny took over?
Yet the hyper-violent right-wing ICE goons have killed at least two U.S. citizens and several undocumented (6 in custody in January alone).
The ICE goons and thugs were hastily hired with inadequate vetting. That’s why they hide behind masks. They’re afraid of background checks.
