One Side of Earth Is Rapidly Getting Colder Than the Other

Scientists from the University of Oslo say one side of Earth’s interior is losing heat much faster than the other side—and the culprit is practically as old as time.

A study published in Geophysical Research Letters uses computer models of the last 400 million years to calculate how “insulated” each hemisphere was by continental mass, which is a key quality that holds heat inside instead of releasing it. The pattern goes all the way back to Pangaea.

Earth has a red hot liquid interior that warms the entire planet from inside. It spins, too, generating both gravity and Earth’s magnetic field. This holds our protective atmosphere close to Earth’s surface.

Over the extremely long term, this interior will continue to cool until Earth is more like Mars. The surprise in the study is how unevenly the heat is dissipating, but the reason makes intuitive sense: Parts of Earth have been insulated by more landmass, creating something of a Thermos layer that traps heat.

So, just things that happen

There’s a surprising contradiction in the findings. The Pacific hemisphere has cooled about 50 Kelvin more than the African hemisphere, but the “consistently higher plate velocities of the Pacific hemisphere during the past 400 [million years]” suggest the Pacific was much hotter at a certain moment in time.

At this time, the cult has not gotten involved to make the spin, but, give it time. Regardless, it does show that natural processes of the Earth, the Sun, the solar system’s place in the galaxy, etc, play way more than a tiny amount of CO2 because Other People drive fossil fueled vehicles. Though, I will still be skeptical of computer models.

The collapse of the Paris Agreement and the unmasking of the net zero illusion were never hard to predict — not for anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty. It didn’t take a fancy research title or an advanced degree. The writing was carved deep into the stone of energy reality, which no press release, no activist lobby and no billionaire-backed foundation could erase.

Most nations — particularly those early in the process of building their futures — offered only empty nods to their climate targets. Their participation was a transparent quest for political leverage. The climate crusade survived by hijacking the political class, manipulating data through compliant scientists, and converting media empires into megaphones of fear.

Finally, thankfully, the global warming craze is dying out. To paraphrase Monty Python, the climate parrot may still be nailed to its perch at the recent COP summit in Belém, Brazil – or at Harvard and on CNN – but elsewhere it’s dead. It’s gone to meet its maker, kicked the bucket, shuffled off this mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. By failing to pledge a cut in fossil fuels, COP achieved less than nothing, the venue caught fire, the air-conditioning malfunctioned – and delegates were told on arrival not to flush toilet paper. Bill Gates’s recent apologia, in which he conceded that global warming “will not lead to humanity’s demise,” after he closed the policy and advocacy office of his climate philanthropy group is just the latest nail in the coffin.

Also worth the read, and, it warms my heart that so many are using the word cult when talking about this subject. Tom Nelson and myself, along with a few others, were the first to really start calling it a cult. But never make the mistake that the doomsday climate cult will go away, it is the perfect vessel for government taking people’s money and freedom, Modern Socialism, authoritarianism, in the name of Saving The Planet. It was the perfect platform when the Soviet Union collapsed for Big Government, all controlling government. “Do you hate the planet?” they said, so, comply. It was a great means for graft, for taking massive amounts of taxpayer money. The cult has managed to fold most issues under the banner of the cult. It might hibernate, but, it will never go away. The cultists won’t let it, especially the rich, elected class, and Elites.
