Jimmy Kimmel’s Political Show To Return Tuesday Or Something

Does anyone really care?

Jimmy Kimmel’s show is returning to ABC on Tuesday, but not all stations will air it

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show will return to ABC’s airwaves on Tuesday, nearly a week after it was suspended amid criticism of the host’s remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

But many households across the U.S. still may not see the show. Sinclair, a company that operates more than 35 ABC affiliates across the U.S., said that it would replace Kimmel with news programming.

“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return,” Sinclair said in a statement.

ABC’s announcement ends an impasse that had drawn national attention, plunging Disney into a political firestorm at the intersection of debates over free speech and “cancel culture.” But the Sinclair statement highlights how ABC’s decision is only part of the ongoing negotiations that would return Kimmel to TVs across the U.S.

Disney, which owns ABC, said in a statement Monday: “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.”

At the beginning ABC said it was a suspension, most likely because Kimmel was going to triple down on his stupid comments (not jokes, no punchline). Sinclair only owns 33 stations, so, is that a big deal? Will Nextar join in? Really, the majority of Kimmel’s small viewership comes from a few liberal markets, like DC, LA, NYC, but, he can still only generate around 1.1 million a night (some report under 800K). Will all the barking moonbats who advocated for Kimmel watch his show, or, will they still find it not entertaining?

LOL. “Entertainment”. Sinclair should run comedy shows as a counterpoint. You know the subject will be Trump Trump Trump.

You have to wonder, is ABC just riding out Kimmel’s contract till it expires in May of 2026, and then simply not bother to renew it? Why keep losing money? Advertising revenue is way down, the show costs a fortune to produce, and it generates ill will.

I expect a ratings boost for a couple days, then most will realize the show is neither funny nor entertaining, and only the super Trump deranged watch it, much like with the old Air America.

KDNL, the local ABC station in St Louis, is owned by the reactionary right Sinclair Broadcasting, which has chosen to NOT run Jimmy Kimmel Live! There is already a list of their advertisers circulating for boycotting – McDonalds, every ambulance-chasing law firm extant, Purina etc with included telephone numbers. KDNL will reverse their censorship choice as money speaks louder than ideology. Sinclair demanded that Mr Kimmel apologize AND make a “sizable” donation to Kirk Family and Turning Point USA, which he is unlikely to do.

OTOH, Nexstar will not back down, needing the US government/Donnie/Carr/FCC approval for the currently not allowed $6.2 BILLION merger with Tegna.

It’s ironic, isn’t it, that MAGAts don’t even watch Kimmel, Colbert, Meyers or Fallon? LOL. They just don’t want others to watch.

Rimjob already admitted he never watched the show so this just gives him another excuse to bitch about conservatives.

      Such a loser!

60 affiliates said they would not run Kimmel.

My local one is not one of them.

I just looked up their telno, called and said I was done with them.

      Everyone.’

Look up the number of your affiliate and call.

In most markets, Kimmel (ABC), Colbert (CBS) and Fallon (NBC) are competitors in the same major network’s time slots. FOX cable runs the unfunny Gutfield at the same time. The funniest and smartest of the group is comedian Seth Meyers (NBC after the unwatchable Fallon).

The best of the best by far is, of course, John Oliver, with his in depth and irreverent show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO/MAX. If you haven’t seen it, please tune in. Each week, he and his staff take a deep look at a single topic.

Jon Stewart now hosts The Daily Show (Mondays – others host Tues-Fri) on Comedy Central.

David Letterman hosts My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman on Netflix, which is a serious interview show. Maybe Donnie will agree to be interviewed!?!

Rimjob could probably do a little research before making a fool of himself.

Greg Gutfeld’s show, “Gutfeld!”, is currently the most-watched late-night program, averaging about 3.3 million viewers, significantly outperforming competitors like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which average around 1.8 million and 2.4 million viewers, respectively. Gutfeld! has shown substantial growth, increasing its audience by over 31% compared to the previous year.

Not to mention “Gutfeld!” is cable only.

      Bwaha! Lolgfy Loser!
      MAGA47 Motherfucker!

Speaking of Jon Stewart, he interviewed the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, the incredible Honorable Dame Jacinda Ardern, currently holding dual fellowships at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is the Angelopoulos Global Public Leaders Fellow and a Hauser Leader at the Center for Public Leadership, engaging with students and faculty on empathetic leadership.

Do you’uns remember the horrific Christchurch mass murders only some 5 years ago. An Aussie white christian supremacist, Brenton Tarrant, 28, shot up the Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Centre, killing 51 and injuring 40 Muslim worshipers. Tarrant livestreamed the first attack! You’ve no doubt seen the video. He was on his way to a 3rd mosque when the police stopped him. He was sentenced to life without parole. Tarrant admitted to being radicalized on 4chan and 8chan discussions and had written a 74 page manifesto, The Great Replacement. He has appealed against his prison conditions and his designation as a “terrorist entity”.

He sounded a lot like Charles Kirk and Donnie.
