But it turns out those models have a bit of a blind-spot: exactly how much of the sun’s energy gets reflected back to space from the snow and ice at our poles.
As a result, scientists may have been underestimating global warming.

Bright snow and ice reflects the sun’s energy back to space, helping earth stay a little cooler. Even though it’s a tiny change, the algae that grows on patches of ice in Antarctica alters the albedo — or the ice’s reflectivity — enough to make the planet warm even faster.
“When [the algae] are actively photosynthesizing, they have a larger impact on the surface albedo because they’re bringing extra energy into the snowpack, which dissipates as heat and causes it to melt faster,” Khan explained.
So, how does this compare to during previous Holocene warm periods? If you do not know then you have no comparison. That’s not science. But, then, none of this is science, it’s a cult.

Incoming radiation (that is not reflected) can either be absorbed by the surface, resulting in warming OR it can be utilized in photosynthesis to create glucose. It cannot do both.

My apologies for misinterpreting your argument that radiation from the sun can either warm the planet OR power photosynthesis, but not both. To do so would violate one or more of the laws of thermodynamics.
To my simple mind solar radiation appears to have done both for many hundreds of millions of years. Where am I wrong?
Unlike you, I’m no physicist, but do recall from public school science that the Sun emits UV, visible and infrared (IR) wavelengths of radiation.
Chlorophylls absorb blue and red wavelengths which power the enzyme rubisco to add one CO2 molecule to a 5 carbon sugar! Our skin (and sunscreens!!) absorb UV wavelengths. Carbon dioxide absorbs infraed wavelengths.
Thank the gods that sunlight is so versatile! Except for that sunburn and skin cancer crap.
