I left the military after 21 years in 2020 because the Secretary of Defense ordered sensitivity training, and began culling the troops for any hint of White Supremacy or White nationalism. This flies in the face of a military that is all volunteer.
We soldiers put our lives on the line for nearly 2 decades. I personally was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and Kuwait 7 times in 21 years. Under Biden, we had to walk on eggshells and those of you who served in the military know the camaraderie that goes on among troops, and the trash-talking and bs’ing that is part of the culture was just crushed By Lloyd Austin.
I had enough. The exodus is astounding under Biden’s leadership, not because he is a Democrat. Hell under Obama we were turning people away in the US Army. Relax. Did you notice I had “national utility” in quotes? For the sake of argument, I was accepting Mr Dana’s conclusion that twitter had reached the size, scope and reach to no longer qualify as a private corporation.
Wingers claimed that twitter, as a private corporation, was exercising judgement was an affront to the First Amendment, arguing that as a powerful private entity it should allow all content it received to be posted. For that to happen twitter would have to receive special protections since its advertisers would bolt.
Twitter is an entertainment corporation like FOX, Disney or HBO. They are free to set their own rules of use for their contributors. They get free content from tweeters who are exposed to focused marketing. Twitter sells billions of dollars of advertising space to corporations.
IF the content becomes too scandalous or offensive, the “market” will take care of things. PepsiCo probably doesn’t want to be linked to an advertising vehicle that permits threats against Jews, extols the virtues of Naziism or demeaning black Americans, women, gays and Mexicans.
When you put something in quotes it means anything you want so I generally ignore it.

Pepsi hasn’t seen fit to disassociate itself from ISIS, the Taliban or child porn. So this is likely an empty threat.
