LGB Admin Plans To End Rule Allowing Doctors And Nurses To Not Perform Abortions

Well, of course they would, because abortion on demand is the #1 belief in the Democratic Party

U.S. to scrap ‘conscience’ rule for healthcare workers, Politico reports

President Joe Biden’s administration plans to rescind a rule devised under his predecessor Donald Trump that was intended to make it easier for healthcare providers including doctors and nurses to avoid performing abortions or other medical services on religious or moral grounds, Politico reported on Tuesday.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in 2018 unveiled what it called the “conscience rule,” but it never took effect due to litigation. States including California and New York and abortion providers filed suit to challenge it, leading a federal court to block the measure in 2019.

The rule enabled the federal government to punish hospitals, clinics, universities and other healthcare providers that stopped healthcare workers from doing what their “conscience” dictated and refusing to carry out certain procedures. Trump’s HHS said the rule fulfilled his “promise to promote and protect the fundamental and unalienable rights of conscience and religious liberty.” Religious conservatives were a key constituency for Trump.

Either way, how many abortions are performed in hospitals? About the only number I can find was this Washington Post piece which says about four percent. So, not many where a medical worker could be forced to take part. What else could be affected?

Some states and municipalities argued that the rule could undermine their ability to provide effective healthcare and upend their efforts to accommodate workers’ beliefs. Critics also have said the rule could deprive gay, transgender and other patients of needed healthcare because some providers, citing religious beliefs, might deem them less worthy of treatment.

Ah, there it is. Would healthcare workers, even very religious ones, deny the type of medical care that hospitals and emergency clinics give to them? How about regular doctors, who can pick and choose who their clients are? I’m not sure the Trump rule or the rescinding of the rule, which is expected to be by the end of April, by the Let’s Go Brandon Admin will change much of anything.

It’s the optics to the unhinged Democratic Party base of getting rid of an Orange Man Bad rule, exciting them about the potential to expand abortion on demand. Secondarily, making sure the gender confused may not be turned away, which they usually wouldn’t, but, in Liberal World, everything is The Worst.

William Teach typed: abortion on demand is the #1 belief in the Democratic Party

While a woman’s right to control her own reproductive health IS a core belief in the party, it’s just part of the party’s commitment to civil rights for all Americans.

The Democratic Party works that there be NO unnecessary abortions. Widespread availability of contraception, reducing sexual abuse and rape, supporting education, more equitable distribution of wealth and resources and support for abused women, all reduce the need for abortions.

The QOP prefers outright bans on issues and activities they oppose. It’s all about control. QOPhers call abortion murder, but they don’t really believe it, any more than they think grade school teachers are “grooming” children, or that DonJon tRumPutin won the election. It’s just part of the schtick to virtue signal to the rest of their cult. The QOP refuses to do the difficult work to reduce unwanted pregnancies. And they certainly have no sympathy for poor children.

More than half of induced abortions in the U.S. are now “medication” abortions. Over half of abortions are obtained by Catholics, Protestants and Evangelical women, combined. Caucasian women make up the largest “racial” group obtaining abortions. Over two-thirds of abortion recipients are poor (income less than 2x the poverty level). 90% of abortions occur at 12 weeks gestation or less. Two-thirds under 8 weeks.

How will QOPhers control medication abortions? Should statewide systems be established to track women’s cycles (the MO state Medical Director and crony of disgraced fired Gov Eric Greitens, did just that)?

What’s this QOP Rimjob keeps droning on about?
And why does he ask such stupid questions?

dOwd is really freaking out lately drowningpuppies. I figure his tiny brain is finally realizing all his lies multiplied by millions of leftist democrats aren’t being bought by Americans any longer and they’re gonna get their ass kicked in the mid terms which will be the beginning of the end for the lying commie pigs. The whole position of the left is making dOwd crazy.

I asked him a couple weeks ago what that QOP crap was but as usual he never answers a question. I guess it’s some new iteration of that Qanon thing that seems to occupy so much of his tiny brain while having done nothing news worthy. I think they sleep under the bitches bed with the other monsters.

He tries to be cute and clever and the result is he sounds stupid and nasty. But that’s okay. Every comment proves our point. I’ve also noticed his projection went from neurotic to full blown psycho over the last few weeks. Ever since the inflation rate went higher that FJB approval the fool has been apoplectic.

FJB, FQOP, and FU too dOwd.

Save in the few cases in which a pregnant woman’s life is in near-immediate danger, all abortions are unnecessary. The woman could take the decision to have her child, and give him up for adoption if she felt she couldn’t rear him, or keep him.

Mx Dana may not have been raped and impregnated by their uncle Porter.

        • Dana says:

Is an abortion necessary even for a rape victim?

The legal punishment for rape is that the rapist, if convicted, is sentenced to prison, hopefully for the rest of his miserable life, though, alas! far, far, far too many are given very short terms.

But our garrulous grump from the Gateway City seems to believe that the appropriate punishment for rape should be death, not to the rapist, but upon the innocent child he spawned.

Emergency care, no, but the left are worried that a plastic surgeon or urologist or nurse would refuse to perform or participate in sexual mutilation reassignment surgery.

So, let’s say someone, we’ll call him Jeff for now, decides that he’s really a she, and he goes to his local urologist and plastic surgeon and says, “I’m a chick; get rid of my dick!” The surgeons decline; would Jeff now have a lawsuit against them?

Mx Dana fantasizes they can read the minds of others! But kuntservavtives like Mx Dana fantasize about many things. They live in a world of shadows, imaginings and make-believe.

    • The catholic but not Catholic Elwood P. dOwd says:

Let’s say a young lesbian, we’ll call her Dana, identifies as a male. She decides to get a dick constructed, hoping to be able to satisfy a real woman! Fortunately, a young man, Darnell, who identifies as a female, has a dick for transplant! The surgery is complex but successful! Dana keeps his girly name, and marries his bisexual (B in LGBTQ) lady who gives up her boyfriends but finds Darnell’s, er Dana’s, new appliance familiar. They lived happily ever after.

      nuKuntservatives can all fuck off.

      • LOLZ! Perhaps the anti-conservative curmudgeon is unaware just how sexual mutilation reassignment surgeries are performed. No, they are not penile transplants from donors, but, I suppose that’s really no more of a fantasy than the concept that a person can actually change sex, so I can see how he might have been confused about that.

Jared Jennings, the prepubescent boy who decided that he was a girl and called himself “Jazz,”, was given puberty blockers by his child-abusing parents. When surgeons try to perform male-to-female sexual mutilation reassignment surgery, they take the skin from the penis and attempt to fold it in to create a faux vagina. However, since young Mr Jennings never went through puberty, he had what he always had, the penis of a five-year-old boy, which left the quack surgeon who was trying to perform the sexual mutilation reassignment surgery with insufficient material with which to work.

Mr Jennings parents used his mental illness for profit, getting a television show to document his life ‘transitioning’ while in school. They should have been arrested and prosecuted for child abuse, and young Mr Jennings assigned foster parents.

  3. Dana says:

Why would any person want to compel a doctor or nurse to perform a procedure of provide health care he did not wish to provide? I would think that the last person I’d want to be involved in my health care would be someone who was opposed to being there.

    • The catholic but not Catholic Elwood P. dOwd says:

Why? It’s their job. They should another job if they refuse to treat their patients based on their religious feelings.

We fully recognize that U.S. kuntservatives place their bizarre and curious religious feelings above all, but a diverse society such as the U.S. cannot exist that way.

Should an E.R. doc refuse to treat a trans patient because their religious feeling disapprove? Maybe they won’t touch a female because she’s menstruating and unclean.

U.S. kuntservatives are led by a bunch of stone-age goatherders.

      • Dana says:

This isn’t about a physician or nurse refusing to treat an emergency patient, and never has been. Rather, it is about attempting to compel a nurse or physician to take part in elective procedures. You, of course, knew that all along.

  4. Steven says:

Of course they will compel them or take away their license, using commerce clause.
