House Republicans Finally Listen, Pass Bill With Border Wall Funding

We should remember that Congress passed legislation well over a decade ago that required the construction of a border wall, they just haven’t funded it in full

(Breitbart) The House passed a spending bill that includes $5.7 billion in border wall funding, sending the bill to the Senate.

The House passed the spending bill with border wall funding, 217-185, featuring strong Republican support for the bill and no Democrat support for the bill.

The House started a renewed effort to push for $5.7 billion in wall funding after President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that he will not sign a bill that does not include border security funding. Trump also threatened to veto any legislation that comes before him without security funding. The revised funding bill also includes $7.8 billion in disaster relief.

“I’ve made my position very clear,” Trump said. “Any measure that funds the government must include border security.”

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) cheered the bill’s passage in a statement on Thursday, saying, “Tonight the House passed a Continuing Resolution to keep the government open, secure our borders, and provide relief to communities harmed by natural disasters.” (snip)

Meadows also said that he came away with the impression that Trump will not relent on his fight for border security funding, even though Democrats will likely reject the measure in the Senate.

And now it is back over to the Senate

Rep. Perry said that Senate Democrats will face a tough time explaining why they will not vote for funding a border wall.

“Nine Democrats are going to explain to their constituents, their bosses, why they would rather shut down the government than stop the flow of illegal immigrants, human trafficking, and fentanyl and opioids,” Perry said. “If they can make that case to their constituents, God bless them.”

Three Dems look like yes votes to push the bill in the Senate to a floor vote, so six more would be necessary to avoid a filibuster. Chuck Schumer has said the that bill is dead in the Senate, but, is it? Is this the hill Democrats want to die on, defending not securing our southern border against illegal aliens? Does he want to be roasted by President Trump over this? Every shot, every tweet, every message will be on the news for everyone to see.

Trump crowed he was “proud to shut down the government” and lied that he wouldn’t blame Dems. LOL.

Then he walked back his demands for $5 billion for The Wall.

But then he was attacked by the right-wing media, called gutless and coward and liar, oh my.

Now he’s twitting about a long shut-down and blames it on the Dems, and has commanded McConnell to detonate the nuclear option again.

This is once again about tRump’s pride and shriveling manhood. All image, all the time. If “FOX and Friends” is happy, trump is happy.

Oh, and Defense Secretary “Mad-Dog” Mattis just resigned, and the military is now even more pissed at The Don. We have 2 or 3 times more troops at the Mexican border than we do in Syria. Are Guatemalan kids a bigger threat than ISIS, Iran and Russia? Kurdish fighters opposed to ISIS now figure they’re dead meat, too. Is Don Jr (Baby Doc) working a Tower deal in Istanbul? All image, all the time, and keep the sweet, sweet globalist cash rolling in.

Looks like they’re taking him seriously.

So much for his pride and shriveling manhood. He has the guts, they didn’t.

And I’ll bet the Rangers are glad to be out of the sandbox. Mad Dog was (relatively) old school. You invade a place, you stay there 50 or 100 years. Trump knows we can’t do that. A 10 division Army only stretches so far.

Maybe 2 years was enough. Maybe it was because Mad Dog was something of a Lefty (he wanted to buck Trump on warming, trans/whatever crown).

No offense to the jarheads out there, but there seem to be a lot of Lefty Marines.

      Never could figure that out.

It’s not the just the marines. It is a large majority of military officers in every service. The US military is the most communist part of American society and it’s officers are naturally immersed in that community and never question their role in keeping it that way. Government provided housing, health care, school for the kids, day care, food, and everyone has a government -provided job. Generals don’t just drink the cool-aid, they made careers of mixing different flavors and telling everyone how good it is.

To whom did House Republicans listen? tRump? FOX and Friends? Republican voters? Certainly they weren’t listening to Americans in general, 69% of whom think tRump’s Wall obsession is a crock.

36% of Americans think tRump should NOT compromise on his Wall. Coincidentally, that is the same as his approval rating. tRump is president of part of America.
