Good Grief: We Need To Keep Obamacare Because Of ‘Climate Change’

Yesterday, I featured a post (on my site and on Right Wing News) about members of the Cult Of Climastrology complaining that Trump’s wall would be Bad for Hotcoldwetdry. Dave Blount of Moonbattery had an interesting comment on the whole subject

You know the race card has finally run out of juice when desperate Dems are reduced to playing the climate card instead. Problem is, that is running out of juice too.

It looks like all the pro-Obamacare arguments are running out of juice, too

Climate change raises the stakes for affordable health care coverage

Today, more than 100 million Americans depend on healthcare safety-net programs: Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). But that safety net could be shredded if Dr. Tom Price—Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services—has his way. Dr. Price has already introduced plans to dismantle the ACA and roll back Medicaid, which would take health insurance coverage away from 22 million Americans, 14 million of whom are low income.

There are many reasons to oppose these plans, but one of the most important is also the most overlooked: climate change.

As physicians, we see our patients suffering as the planet warms. A 2014 survey by the National Medical Association found that a majority of African-American physicians—who often serve low-income communities and communities of color—report that their patients are already impacted by climate change. Those impacts include injury from severe weather, respiratory issues from heat-related ozone air pollution, longer and stronger allergy seasons, insect-borne diseases such as the Zika virus, and mental health problems associated with dislocation and property loss from extreme weather events.

Hispanics are especially likely to experience the negative health effects of climate change. Many of the country’s 56 million Hispanics live in coastal areas where sea-level rise and hurricane-driven floods threaten wellbeing through injury, property loss, and waterborne illness. Both African Americans and Hispanics are more likely to live in neighborhoods with higher air pollution levels, which are made worse by climate change. As a result, those communities endure higher rates of asthma, lung cancer and premature death.

The global temperature has literally gone up just a mere 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit since 1850. It’s barely budged since 1998. Can you really feel hundreds of a degree?

You can guess how the rest goes. Which caused many in the comments at The Hill to wonder if this was a joke, satire, or how they could publish this rubbish. It’s pure propaganda in attempting to protect Ocare, which is actually bad for minorities.

We need a healthcare system of Insurance that will work…

The republicans are clueless….HSA is a cute way for the Government to be knee deep in your healthcare while everyone pretends they are not.

Selling across state lines will do zip for healthcare costs other then drive even more insurers out of business insuring a monopoly for 4 or 5 of the biggest to charge whatever the hell they want…which trust me wont be cheaper…..at all….period.

With deregulations in place again the health care industy will start gouging again….big, big, big time…..the insurance companies will pay it and the people insured will pay it with every increasing health care premiums…….

and then people like Dana who says if you cant afford insurance you should not have it will be happy because no one but he on medicare will have insurance…..

Health care was out of control in this country prior to Obama…he did not create the healthcare system in our country……….his bill was beyond retarded…..it was meant to fail….It was meant to create a crisis………

And now those dispicable lying cocksuckers called Republicans have no Replacement…….all those one SAYING I WILL REPEAL OBAMACARE and we will fix the system….THEY WERE LYING….they never thought they would ever repeal it…..so they never ever had a replacement even thought up…..

because all those bastards are bought and paid for by the HealthCare industry and they cannot lift a finger that does not create profits for the HC industry……

So what we are gonna have is an even worse system because NOW its been revealed that the companies and corporations can survive and make money by NOT GIVING HEALTHCARE…by NOT HAVING FULL TIME WORKERS and by NOT having to spend multi-millions running their own healthcare programs within their walls……

The ACA was well thought out…..well designed…….well implemented to do one thing……..Bring healthcare to its knees and ultimately land the kill shot on what we have today…..there is no going back

Not even trump can save health care in this country because its been destroyed by the left on purpose for one reason……UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.

The simplest plan would be for the US government to pay the first 5000 dollars of every persons healtcare needs…..per year.

People/companies would buy a health insurance plan that paid 100 percent of 5001-100,000. per year.

The Government would pick up the tab for anything over 100,001.00 each year.

The US Government would pay for perscriptions….A pool would be created for all people with pre-existing health conditions…..once the person no longer had that condition they would be moved into the normal pool…

Individuals and companies and corporations and the Government would all be responsible for health care costs. Even small companies with 10 or more employees would pay a tax….affordable tax that goes into the pool to help the entire process become self funding.

Its simple really……this guarantees that healthcare is accessible for all for free…..It also ensures that its paid for by ALL….purchasing health insurance from corporations ensures they stay in business and PROVIDE JOBS without the staggering costs that force them OUT of business…….

Unfortunately for libertarians for this plan to work the US government is going to have to regulate this in order to ensure that the prices do not escalate to 1 million dollar for an aspirn……cause trust me if the Hospitals have their choice they will bill the insurance 1 trillion dollars every time you take a dump in the hospital and an MRI will cost the national deficit IF they think they can get away with it.

No, the simplest plan would be for people to be responsible for their own health care, with government not involved, period. If that means that some people die earlier due to being unable to afford health care, well, too bad.

If the government is going to guarantee health care, the simplest plan would be to extend Medicare to cover all citizens and legal residents; foreign citizens and people here illegally should not be covered. It wouldn’t provide the quality to which we are currently accustomed, but it would cover everybody.

If that’s true, then something is very wrong. Getting rid of Obama (and a lot of DC) will help.

  5. Jeffery says:

I now agree with Dana. Stop all gov’t involvement in healthcare today. If you can’t compete in modern America, die. No more gov’t grants for research, either.

In fact, get the feds out of everything. Stop Social Security today. No more FICA taxes, no more Social Security payouts, no more disability payments.

No more fed (hard working taxpayer money) money for infrastructure, roads, bridges, highways, schools, dams, airports.

Eliminate the EPA, FDA, FBI, CIA, SEC, IRS, FCC etc and all the regulatory agencies that are choking corporations and FREEDOM!

All fed taxes will be voluntary. The military will be funded by donations.

After all the left has branded conservativism Nazism and after reading your bullshit comments…..its clear they are probably right….thats exactly what Hitler would do…….

fuck this website…..Im done….I think Ill go find a place where normal people hang out.
