(Fox News) Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton caused an uproar late Friday after telling a fundraiser audience that half of Republican nominee Donald Trump’s supporters could be described as part of a “basket of deplorables.”
The former secretary of state, who described her own remarks as “grossly generalistic”, said Trump had bolstered people who are “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.” She did add that Trump’s other supporters are frustrated by hard times and merit sympathy.
“They are just desparate for change,” Clinton said. “They don’t buy everything [Trump] says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different.
Clinton was speaking at an LGBT fundraiser in New York City, where she encouraged supporters to “stage an intervention” if they have friends considering voting for the Republican nominee.

(Breitbart) “Just when Hillary Clinton said she was going to start running a positive campaign, she ripped off her mask and revealed her true contempt for everyday Americans,†Senior Communications Advisor for the Trump campaign Jason Miller said in a statement.
“Tonight’s comments were more than another example of Clinton lying to the country about her emails, jeopardizing our national security, or even calling citizens ‘super-predators’ – this was Clinton, as a defender of Washington’s rigged system – telling the American public that she could care less about them,†he said.
He said it was “truly deplorable†that Clinton signaled contempt for Trump voters in front of her wealthy donors.
“Clinton revealed just how little she thinks of the hard-working men and women of America,†he concluded.
Oh, no, she thinks a lot of them. How to make sure they are under her thumb, how to raise their taxes and cost of living, how to make sure they are good little underlings, and so on. You are all here to serve her.
Compared to traditional GOP voters, Trump supporters are:

93% say Blacks “plight” is their own fault

55% support abortion rights
So not all Trump supporters are older, white, male HS dropouts but those guys are overrepresented compared to the general population or even amongst traditional GOP voters.
Almost all are white, anti-immigrant, anti-Black. It’s clearly a movement.
But white guys who didn’t graduate HS deserve representation too. This group has been battered in the “new” economy, this new “entrepreneurial”, information and high tech age.
While many, with Mr. Trump’s urging, blame immigrants, Mexicans and Blacks, many rightly blame government. Over the past several decades both political parties have abandoned working classes in favor of the already wealthy. The political elites have not done this out of neglect but by actively enacting policy that favors the wealthy. Trade policies, labor policies (where have all the unions gone?), tax policies (shifting the progressive federal burden to local regressive taxes), monetary (throwing people out of work to keep inflation down), fiscal (austerity in a severe recession), strong dollar policies, deregulating Wall Street etc. Our politicians have been working overtime to redistribute income and wealth UPward, but it’s reached a breaking point.
Unfortunately, nothing Mr. Trump proposes will correct this, as his focus is to deport Mexicans, cut taxes and decrease? spending causing another great recession.
