DOJ Grants Immunity To Person Who Set Up Hillary’s Private Server

But, don’t worry, this isn’t a criminal probe and not even probing her personally, according to Hillary and company. Alas, people are usually not given immunity unless it is a criminal investigation

(Washington Post) The Justice Department has granted immunity to a former State Department staffer, who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The official said the FBI had secured the cooperation of Bryan Pagliano, who worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign before setting up the server in her New York home in 2009.

Patterico notes the spin by Team Clinton on this, as well as this tweet

Meaning, this looks really, really bad for the target of the investigation. And, let’s not forget, it’s most likely that the target is not just Hillary Clinton, but her inner staff, many of whom colluded in the use of the server, and were involved in passing material at all the various classification levels in contradiction of the law, including material they were not legally entitled to see.

As the FBI looks to wrap up its investigation in the coming months, agents are likely to want to interview Clinton and her senior aides about the decision to use a private server, how it was set up, and whether any of the participants knew they were sending classified information in emails, current and former officials said.

As one of the commenters at Patterico’s article notes

Paul Mirengoff at Powerline points out that the real threat to Hillary! might be if the FBI seeks to interview her. On the one hand, it would look awful for her to assert her Fifth Amendment rights and even the vassals in her press detail might wonder what she has to hide. On the other hand, if she agrees to an interview she might inadvertently wander into a perjury trap of the type that ruined Petraeus.

Taking the 5th in the middle of a presidential race would look really, really bad. Of course, Democrats wouldn’t give a damn, and will vote for her no matter what. Think differently? How did they keep electing former KKK member Robert Byrd? How about William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, re-elected while under criminal indictment for bribery? They continue to support Bill Clinton, despite all the serious allegations about his sexual assaults.

I had a woman break up with me over this issue. We were driving home last weekend from our weekend tryst. Everything had gone great, romantic dinners and hot tubs and long nights of great sex. I turned on the radio and the Hillary classified emails were brought up.

I said Hillary thinks she is above the law.
    She said that is BS.
I said that I’d be in prison if I did what Hillary did.
She said that Colin Powell did the same things as Hillary.
    I said that doesn’t mean it’s not a crime.
She said that it’s just a witch hunt against Hillary.
I changed the subject to the futility of wind power then dropped her at the airport.

Later that night she sent me a message saying that we don’t have anything in common and that we shouldn’t see each other any more.

Which is the outcome I had been hoping for when I broached those topics. I knew she was completely intolerant of any ideas to the right of far left. Oh, and, sitting around reading leftist conspiracy theory websites all day makes you fat.

This has to be one of the most repulsive people ever to be born. How the Dems can consider her as president is beyond me. You can tell she is lying every time she opens her mouth and she is totally corrupt.

    JG,
You might want to have the doc check you for all forms of STD’s, those liberals are dirty people.

  3. JGlanton says:

You are right about getting checked out, David.

Get this, LOL, she told me that the Zika virus was caused by a greedy corporation and their GMOs. This is a person with a high IQ, but the reasoning power of a liberal.

  4. Jeffery says:

Yes, the evidence points to Secretary Clinton being above the law. After all she’s being investigated for doing what others did without being investigated! If she were really any kind of omnipotent tyrant wouldn’t the investigation have been shut down if not even started?

George W. Bush et al invaded Iraq after lying to the American people and no investigation!

Secretary Clinton must be the worst tyrant ever!

  5. jl says:

Evidence of Bush’s “lies”, J. And Hillary would look much better in an orange jump suit rather than yellow pant-suits.

Yeah, General Petraeus was never investigated. While others had personnel email accounts, no one that I heard ever had an insecure server.

So at least compare apples to apples.

George W. Bush et al invaded Iraq after lying to the American people and no investigation!

And of courses, this has been debunked time and time again, but Jeffery feels the need to keep trotting out the lie.

Today Thursday it was announced that there was no sign of any foreign hacking

  8. gitarcarver says:

    john,

Please cite who “announced” that there was no sigh of foreign hacking.

You should also know that the FBI did not get the entire forensic evidence from the server as part had been destroyed.

“Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

And by the way, just the other day you were talking about how Hillary wasn’t going to be interviewed so there was no crime.

That changes as well, didn’t it?

  9. Jeffery says:

The Republican frontrunner said today that Mitt Romney would have fellated him for his 2012 endorsement.

    Stay classy, Republicans.

Trump is qualified to be a commenter on a conservablog, but probably not much else.

Will Secretary Clinton be a better President than Trump would have been? LOL.

I don’t know if many of you do business overseas, but Trump and the GOP are hurting the US around the world.

  10. Jeffery says:

Petraeus knowingly and intentionally shared classified information with his mistress and biographer, then lied to FBI investigators about it.

There is no evidence, none, nada, zip… that Secretary Clinton did anything like what General Petraeus did.

The New York Times reported there was no hacking of the Clinton server, but based on anonymous sources.

At this time there is absolutely no publicly available evidence to support a criminal indictment against Secretary Clinton, although that doesn’t mean none exists.

Clinton certainly was in violation of State Dept rules and regs, but that’s not a crime.

What do you see as the most likely criminal charge against the Secretary?

  11. Jeffery says:

In the debate, tonight Trump assured Americans that he has a large enough penis.

    Stay classy, Republicans.

    The world is laughing.

  12. gitarcarver says:

You’re right. What she did was worse.

She shared classified information with people who were not allowed to see it and then lied about it Congress and the American people.

Petraeus shared with one person. Clinton with many.

At this time there is absolutely no publicly available evidence to support a criminal indictment against Secretary Clinton, although that doesn’t mean none exists.

    One word: server.

Clinton certainly was in violation of State Dept rules and regs, but that’s not a crime.

Actually it is a crime Jeffery as the regs hold criminal penalties.
