Texas AG Invites New Yorkers To Come On Down

New Yorkers wouldn’t have to worry about violating the law if they mistakenly put 8 bullets in the magazine (via The Lonely Conservative)

(Reuters) (Greg) Abbott, a possible candidate for governor of Texas in next year’s election, used campaign money to buy ads on websites of news organizations in New York City and Albany.

One ad says in classic Western script: “WANTED: Law abiding New York gun owners seeking lower taxes and greater opportunities.”

Clicking on the ad leads to a Facebook page touting the virtues of Texas, including the fact that the state has no income tax so “you’ll be able to keep more of what you earn and use that extra money to buy more ammo.”

Abbott told Reuters the ads are a “way to tweak our liberal friends up in the Northeast.”

“It is tongue in cheek, but there is a deeper message here,” he said. “Texas really does stand as the last bastion of ultimate freedom in this country. Over the last decade, more than 4 million people moved to this state, and one reason is freedom and one reason is economic opportunity.”

Let’s not forget that the fools who wrote, and voted for, the NY gun law forgot to exempt the police from the 7 rounds restriction, and now have to go back and fix that.

They also didn’t exempt Olympic shooters and the events.

I don’t think they should allow exemptions. If the police, who are the subjects of citizens, are more armored and more powerfully equipped, then who really has the power? The police or the people?

If the Dept of Education can purchase massive amounts of SWAT style assault shotguns, then citizens should to. If the Fisheries service can purchase millions of rounds of high power ammo, then Teach should be able as well (without any flack).

  2. And no exemptions for the people who guard Gov Cuomo

Well, that’s only right. If we are not allowed to guard ourselves, then neither should they.

Oh dang. forgot that they were the elite. My bad.
