Hmm: 83% Of Doctors Have Considered Quitting Thanks To Obamacare

The obvious solution is to mandate that doctors keep working under Comrade Obama

(The Daily Caller) Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.

The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.

Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The new health care law increases demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage. This change will exacerbate the current shortage as more Americans live past 65.

Well, O-care will simply deem that people are doctors. If we just gave more money to Obama donors those medical jobs would magically appear. Obviously, though, these darned doctors who get themselves in enormous debt to earn their licenses are big meanies who are refusing to do their part for The State.

The DPMA found that many doctors do not believe the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will lead to better access to medical care for the majority of Americans, co-founder of the DPMA Kathryn Serkes told TheDC.

“Doctors clearly understand what Washington does not — that a piece of paper that says you are ‘covered’ by insurance or ‘enrolled’ in Medicare or Medicaid does not translate to actual medical care when doctors can’t afford to see patients at the lowball payments, and patients have to jump through government and insurance company bureaucratic hoops,” she said.

Doctors are already refusing to take more Medicare and Medicaid patients. Even before O-care this was happening, thanks to the red tape, idiotic paperwork, low reimbursement costs and slow reimbursement times. It isn’t going to get better, especially when the “death panels”, ie, the Independent Payment Advisory Board, starts telling doctors how to treat their patients.

No one should be shocked that doctors weren’t consulted as to the effects of O-care.

I can assure you, docs have had enough. If they don’t quit, they will form a union. The feds currently keep us from unions with various rules, those will be gone with O care.

If all we need is a prescription from our doctor to prove we have medical coverage.. then my good high school buddy-turned family doctor will hook me up. Assuming he will still BE a doctor.

But that still begs the question… what WILL be the proof that IRS will demand to prove that you have government approved coverage?

“You know why I pulled you over?” “No, sir…was I speeding?” “No, I pulled you over because you’re white. You don’t look like someone who would vote for Obama. Your papers, please.” *Hand over license, registration, and proof of insurance* “No, I said YOUR PAPERS PLEASE.” *Hand over proof of medical insurance* “Your papers are not in order. To the Gulag with you!”

Doctors were consulted- as were hospital groups and every other stake holder. The doctors are only concerned about reduced payments for Medicare patients. It can’t go down more, or many will refuse to see them. So that needs to be handled. They are TOTALLY in favor of the mandate to get more people insured. Those that aren’t need to re-read the Hippocratic Oath.

    BWEWWWHWHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA
That’s about as funny as anything silly john has ever said.

So, you demand that any doctor, no matter who or what they do or where they are, should treat people no matter the cost or if they get paid. Even if they never get paid, they should continue to treat people.

I’m wondering how you propose doctors to continue to buy the medicines, the nurses, the disinfectants, the sterilization equipment, the hospital time, the surgical tools, the contracts for surgical personnel, etc?

If doctors are “TOTALLY in favor of the mandate,” why would there even be a group that need to re-read the Hippocratic Oath?

The fact of the matter is that doctors are not in favor of Obamacare. They know they will not get paid for the work they do and in spite of the 13th Amendment, be forced to work for a certain wage.

This was prophesied in the New Testament… that doctors would lament that they couldn’t feed themselves or their family.

Not sure of the book or verse though.
