Shocker: Nifong Found Guilty

I’m flabbergasted

RALEIGH, N.C. — Mike Nifong violated 27 of 32 rules of professional conduct during his prosecution of three Duke University lacrosse players falsely accused of rape, a disciplinary committee ruled Saturday.

The committee, after deliberating for a little more than an hour, unanimously agreed with the bar on almost every charge, including the most serious allegations — that Nifong’s actions involved "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation."

No! Not Mikey! He would never do that!

Dudley Witt, said his client made "multiple, egregious mistakes" but none were made intentionally.

"It didn’t click," Witt said as he tried to explain away one of his client’s errors. "His mind is just his mind. That’s the way it works. It just didn’t click."

Oh, please, how stupid do you think we, the public, are? He willfully hid evidence over long periods of times, along with all the other actions. You do not screw up that long, with all sorts of media, blogger, and public outcry, and not know something might be a little off kilter.

See more at Hot Air.

Update: Apparently, Nifong said he would give up his law license, and the State Bar was more then happy to oblige. Listening to it live, the Lane Wilson, the panel chairperson, is ripping Nifong apart, almost like the panel is saying "no, no, no, to hell with you offering to give it up, we are taking it of our own accord!"

I wonder if Amanda Marcotte, she of "Can’t a few white boys sexually assault a black woman anymore without people getting all wound up about it?" fame, will write anything about the subject?

Blackbeard – Why didn’t Nifong ask the ACLU, NAACP, NOW, United Nations, CAIR, Black Panther Party, DNC, or Rainbow Coalition to represent him? Why didn’t he ask for a hearing in Detroit, LA, SF or NY City?
Why didn’t he tan ‘a little more darker’ at the OBX BEFORE his hearing? – Score 3 for the Dukies!
