Breaking ranks with The New York Times, Time magazine said Thursday it would comply with a court order to hand over the notes of a reporter threatened with jail for refusing to cooperate with an investigation into the unmasking of a CIA operative.

Smart move by Time to give this information up (via Fox). Protecting one’s sources is one thing. Protecting a source that has violated Federal law is another.

Who will the source be? Will we ever know? But, don’t you think that if this was a source that would be damaging to President Bush, someone would have released it already? I do.
