Obama Says He Has Most Foreign Experience. No Really!

Laughter is not helping. Breathe, breathe. Whew. OK

(Huffington Post) Last night at a fundraiser in San Francisco, Barack Obama took a question on what he’s looking for in a running mate. “I would like somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I’m not as expert on,” he said, and then he was off and running. “I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more Commander-in-Chief-like. Ironically, this is an area–foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Senator Clinton or Senator McCain.”

Come on, hold off the side splitting laughter for just another moment. I’ll wait

“It’s ironic because this is supposedly the place where experience is most needed to be Commander-in-Chief. Experience in Washington is not knowledge of the world. This I know. When Senator Clinton brags ‘I’ve met leaders from eighty countries’–I know what those trips are like! I’ve been on them. You go from the airport to the embassy. There’s a group of children who do native dance. You meet with the CIA station chief and the embassy and they give you a briefing. You go take a tour of a plant that [with] the assistance of USAID has started something. And then–you go.”

Granted, I am not a US Senator, but, is it normal for them to meet with the CIA station chief? And really, Obama has been in the Senate since Jan 4, 2005. Half of his time he has been on the campaign trail to try and become President of a country his wife and mentor dislike and are not proud of. When did he do all this traveling around the world? Were CIA station chiefs meeting with a neophyte Senator, or, prior to 2005, as part of the Illinois state legislature?

OK, let the laughter out.

McCain repeatedly mistakenly linked Iran and the Sunnis
As for what the CIA Station Chief does at least you admitted not knowing before making your case/

Well – he has a lot more experience of all sorts than Bush did when he took office. I seem to feel you are OK with Bush’s experience.

Sure, McCain has a lot more but he seems to have more trouble getting his countries and terrorists right.

  3. Three strikes and you are out…

When the baseball games start, everybody is out there in the stands cheering for their favorite team. With each ball thrown, we look for a home run or, at least, for the batter to get on the base. With each strike, our heart misses a beat, wondering …..

Cut Hussein O some slack. He holds the worlds record for voting ‘here’ to avoid making a decision. Not like the POTUS will ever have to make a decision. I predict that if Hussein isn’t assinated by one of his supporters before the election, he wouldn’t last 90 days in office. Pray for a good VP selection. Think of the history another Islamist can make by assinating the first Islamic president.
