AP and the Washington Post catch up

Took almost a month, but the AP and Washington Post finally realized there had been a movement to sieze SCOTUS Judge David Souter’s house, persuant to the KELO v New London decision, with a hotel.

Near the foot of an unmarked, dead-end dirt road sits a humble, mud-colored farmhouse more than 200 years old. A sign on the mailbox reads "SOUTER."

Some folks want to make that "Hotel Souter."

People from across the country are joining a campaign to seize Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter’s farmhouse to build a luxury hotel, according to the man who suggested it after Souter joined the majority that sided with New London, Conn., in a decision favoring government seizure of private property.

We know someone is working hard at the AP (snicker.) Guess they have a tough time getting away from their Bush Bashing exercises while still being "neutral" (double snicker.) But this part is just silly:

Souter has declined to comment on the matter, but he has defenders, such as Betty Straw, his sixth-grade teacher. "I think it’s absolutely ridiculous," she said. "They’re just doing it for spite."

Spite? Gee, you think? Is it right to attempt to seize his house? Yes. Should it actually be seized? No. Nothing wrong with causing some issues for Souter after his disgusting ruling in KELO. Folks should do the same thing to the other SCOTUS Judges who voted to allow the homes to be seized. If it actually happened that Souter would lose his home, then they should just say, "we made our point" and let him keep it. The SCOTUS needs to realize that there are actual American human beings that are affected by their rulings. Their rulings aren’t some sort of intellectual exercise.

Captain Ed has more.

Speak English

I’ll tell you, folks, I personally do not mind some crazy language. Down here in the South (always capitalized) we say reckon, fixin’, and other words that might seem poor English. People all over say ain’t (at least when Mom cannot here it.) Where my Dad comes from, in the Pittsburg area, people pronounce "battery" like "battry." They drop some "e’s", which are made up for by people in the far North East with all the extra "e’s" on names, such as the Olde Towne Taverne. But people are taking language too far when they mash pronunciation.

This rant is caused by a lady pronouncing bathroom baffroom to her young children. If you want to sound like a complete f**king dumbass fool, please, continue. It’s not even acceptable languge when drunk as a skunk.

Cynthia’s Un-Party

Last week I told you about loony Cynthia McKinney (DN-Ga) to hold hearings on "The 9/11 Commission Report One Year Later – A Citizens’ Response – Did They Get It Right?" What happened to the big meeting? It was supposed to be a: Congressional Briefing on 9/11 to Air on Web, TV and Radio For the World to Hear according to the press release on the 9/11 Citizens Watch webpage.

What about all the press coverage? I cannot find one story other then on the 9/11 Citizen’s Watch page. There was little coverage of the even by tv or radio, Cspan will supposedly broadcast some of it today. I cannot find anything in the Congressional Record nor on any House webpage to show that this meeting even occured, even unofficially. Maybe Big Media is getting a little tired of the ultra nutbags.

From now on, Cynthia will be referred to as Cynthia McKinney (DN-Ga). Democratic Nutbag. This is for you, Cynthia

More Proof of Moonbattery

Did I mention that the Daily Kosbat NEVER mentioned the bombings in London this past Thursday, July 21st? Yup, I did. Kosbat never mentioned the bombings on Friday, either. But a bombing in Egypt? Now THAT seems to be important to Kosbat, as posted by Plutonium Page.

And just remember this little gem:

In other words, no one should jump to any conclusions. Terrorism is far more complex than just "the bombers were tied to al Qaeda".

Maybe the Lefties could remember that regarding Iraq, searching bags in the US, and the need for racial profiling.

Tequila is all the rage

Tequila rocks!

Drunk_cat Once considered a low class hooch, tequila has undergone a huge image change over the past two decades to become the toast of Mexican high society, giving a heady euphoria to the country’s drinks industry.

Made from the hearts of blue agave plants in the Tequila region of Jalisco state, production is this year expected to hit a record 210 million liters (55.4 million US gallons), according to Ramon Gonzalez Figueroa, director general of the Tequila Regulatory Council.

Tequila is actually becoming the new hip drink, replacing the Martini and high end Vodka. Remember, the real Tequila drinkers suck it down sans salt and lime. Straight, baby!

Suspected bomber not therapied to death

So much info on the London attacks yesterday (and my question still stands: why is it OK for a non-Iraqi to attack London for Britains involvement in Iraq (supposedly) but it is not OK to go after non Al Queda groups by the US and Britain?), but, and this should make the Lefties seethe, a suspected 7/21 bomber was shot and killed by armed police officers in London. Now, that might sound a bit redundent, but it is highly unusual for police to carry firearms in Britian.

Police shot and killed a man wearing a thick coat at a London subway station Friday, a day after the city was hit by its second wave of terrorist attacks in two weeks.

The man died after being shot by officers at the Stockwell subway station in south London, police said.

Passengers said a man, described as South Asian, ran onto a train at Stockwell station in south London. Witnesses said police chased him, he tripped, and police then shot him.

Why did they shoot and kill him, instead of offering discussion and therapy, as the Demorats want? We wil find out shortly at the press conference scheduled for 8:30am.

But what does the "reality based community" have to say? Well, the head loon, Daily Kosbat, has completely ignored what happened yesterday. Not one post. Rove and RU-486 are more important stories to those nitwits. Any gems from the DU? Of course
