Via News 14 Raleigh: Investigators said a woman smashed her car into a Garner beauty salon Thursday. Police said she told them she thought her car was in reverse when she ran into a large pillar outside the Beauty Essence Salon. No one was seriously hurt. The salon remained open, though customers had to enter […]

Miss SondraK of Knowledge is Power has an interesting tidbit up regarding an interview with Val Kilmer in Esquire. Kilmer is a pretty good actor, though, since Real Genius and Top Secret, the movies he does haven’t interested me at all. But, he shows he is, well, nuts (h/t gullyborg): I understand it more. It’s […]

The city of Knightdale had their open meeting regarding the curfew that has been imposed on those 18 and under, with the ACLU in attendence. My original story is here. Apparently, it was very contentious, and residents of Knightdale did not appreciate the ACLU’s goal: While the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina described […]

How great is this? The Senate voted Tuesday to allow U.S. military bases to continue to host Boy Scout events, responding to lawsuits and a federal court ruling aimed at severing relationships between the government and the youth group. In a 98-0 vote, the Senate approved the provision continuing the hosting of Boy Scout events […]

For the longest time, my internal Typepad visitor stats did not work (my fault), around 4 months or so, and, since I got it to work again, I still haven’t gotten in the habit of checking it out on a regular basis. However, for a change, I checked today. Maybe it was a sixth sense. […]

It’s true, I actually do agree with the ACLU, sort of, for once: RALEIGH, N.C. — The religious texts of Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and faiths other than Christianity should be allowed in North Carolina courts for oaths promising truthful testimony, the ACLU argued in a lawsuit filed against the state Tuesday. State law allows witnesses […]

Kris over at Dummocrats has a pretty interesting post on the value of Presidential children: While I’m not the biggest fan of the Clintons, by all accounts they did well by Chelsea, as she seems to be a delightful young woman. As such, I think they could get much more for her. In fact, I […]

Remember that childlike delight you got the first time you saw the space shuttle fly? I do. I saw the shuttle take off for the first time in, gotta be 5-7 years, this am, and it was just as good as I remembered. The live camera looking down from the shuttle provided an incredible view. […]

Seems as if Monsieur Kerry has a difficult time finding things (other then rich women to marry). Besides his sanity, he has had trouble finding the Senate Floor, where he was supposed to bloviate about the DSM and Karl Rove, and he has had trouble finding a pen that works on the “undeleated line” of […]

Back in February, I wrote about the Lingerie Bandits. They’re back with a vengence. Authorities say someone stole more than 200 bras and panties, worth about $4,000, from the Victoria’s Secret at Cary Towne Center. This happened over the weekend. Is anyone awake at that Victoria’s Secret? Just silly. In many ways.
