Ethics? Civility? Courtesy? Respect? Democrats talk about these things a lot. They just do not follow them
WATCH: Chuck Schumer sidesteps Platner scandals, confirms support for controversial Dem
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., ignored persistent questions about controversies surrounding Democrat Graham Platner and reaffirmed his support for the embattled Senate candidate.
Platner, a Marine veteran and oyster farmer, has faced a series of controversies in recent weeks, including criticism over a tattoo with links to Nazi imagery, resurfaced Reddit posts where he made inflammatory comments about veterans and reports about sexually explicit messages exchanged with other women during his marriage.
Speaking with journalists in the Capitol on Tuesday, Schumer was pressed on whether he, as the top Senate Democrat, is satisfied with Platner’s explanations of the scandals dogging his campaign. In response, he said, “I met with Graham Platner today, we’re going to beat [Sen.] Susan Collins and take back the Senate.”
Schumer was asked several more times whether he still supports Platner in the face of the scandals considering his endorsement came before all the controversy. He was also asked whether Democrats’ backing of Platner undermines the party’s credibility in criticizing Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton, who has faced some similar scandals.
The New York senator did not respond to these questions directly. Instead, he repeated: “We’re going to beat Susan Collins and take back the Senate.”
And then he tried to get reporters to ask other questions. One should have asked “You’re a Jew. You talk about respect for Jewish people. Yet you’re essentially supporting a guy who had a Nazi tattoo, who knew what that tattoo meant, and hates Israel and Jews. How is it possible to support Platner?”
Dems have spent a decade calling Trump Hitler in waiting, a Nazi, a Fascist. Yet, Dems will mostly not say anything against Platner, since winning the Maine Senate race is more important than any sort of consistency of belief. Because, at the end of the day, their only true belief is power.

Chuck Schumer is just another beadyeyed kapo.
Mr Teach supports Jew Hater, Big Donny.
Senator Schumer, often called a beady-eyed Jew, endorsed Platner and said they would beat Senator Collins.
Note: Governor Mills said her campaign was not ended, but paused.
Unfortunately, politics often outweighs decency. Platner appears to have lied about the history of his Totenkopf tattoo. In fairness, it’s possible he didn’t know it was an SS symbol at the time. Other politicos, especially Repubs who have became Democrat’s darlings, have had their own anti-semitism issues: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, Rand Paul’s son; one of my Senators, Eric Schmitt, hired a speechwriter who had been fired by Ron DeSantis for anti-semitism; Donny pardoned, and Heritage and Tucker Carlson lauded the anti-semite Nick Fuentes; Paul Ingrassia, Nazi sympathizer and white nationalist, who Donny withdrew from consideration as WH liaison to DHS was rehired as counsel for GSA.
Both parties should say and repeat: Anti-Semitism is bad, and those who traffic in it have no place in our party and will not get our support.
Is anti-semitism the worst sin? Is Islamophobia bad? How about racism, homophobia and sexism?
The Nazis were/are much worse than Senator Susan Collins, but in my opinion most Dems are better for the United States than are most Repubes.
Supply ALL the information and let the voters decide.
Platner holds a 9 point polling lead over Susan Collins in Maine senate race.
Desperate accusations of him being a JEW HATER aren’t going to work. What does it mean when an imperfect dem candidate is so far ahead? It means Maine hates Trump. THE largest number of MAINE voters are registered as Independents they will elect him.
Not all Republicans are Nazis but All Nazis vote Republican
Platner got big boost from having his political ad being pulled 1/2 through a Red Sox game 2 weeks ago. He blamed the Red Sox for being in last place on the teams being bought by a giant private equity firm from buying the team and the resultant debt. He said the rich are buying up everything our teams our houses our jobs.
