Projection: Dems Call Killing Off Climate (scam) Rules Is “Corruption”

I would dearly love to see a massive audit of where all the money for climate initiatives went. How about starting with where the $8 billion for EV chargers went

Democrats say Trump’s climate rollbacks ‘corruption in action’

Democrats are linking President Trump’s unraveling of climate change regulations to a larger story about corruption, a midterm argument they think could hurt Republicans in the battles for the House and Senate this fall.

While climate change itself may not be an issue driving most voters to the polls, Democrats are seeking to make a broader case about Trump’s ties to powerful interests.

Asked his thoughts on the state of U.S. climate policy, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) was succinct

“Corrupted,” he told The Hill.

Didn’t he just take a long fossil fueled flight on a private jet to Brazil for a climate conference?

In remarks on the Senate Floor Tuesday in anticipation of the endangerment finding’s repeal, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) described the action as a “corrupt giveaway to Big Oil.”

“Big Oil has worked tirelessly for decades to undermine rules that protect against emissions, and now that they have their guy in the White House, they are taking their biggest swing yet,” Schumer said.

You exhale 40,000 PPM of CO2. 437 ppm in the atmosphere is no bid deal. And the rollback doesn’t effect any of the real pollutants that used to be put out by vehicles.

Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) told The Hill this week that in spite of the Trump administration and Republicans, he believes the U.S. will still make climate progress in the years ahead.

“We are decarbonizing in spite of Lee Zeldin, in spite of Chris Wright, we’re decarbonizing because markets want cheap stuff, and cheap stuff is clean stuff,” Casten said, referring to the leaders of the Environmental Protection Agency and Energy Department, respectively.

Funny. In the Real World people may care about ‘climate change’ in theory, because 1st Worlders really do not have any serious worries, but, in practice they do not want to be forced to practice what other people preach. Let’s do an audit on the stock portfolios of Democrats who vote for ‘climate change’ crap, starting with the ones named in the article. See if they have fossil fuels companies listed. Trump should challenge them to stop taking all those fossil fueled flights. Start driving around in EVs instead of big SUVs.

Do an audit on all those weatherization projects, solar, wind, and more, see where the money went. See how much above market was spent. See how much went in donor pockets, and elected Democrat pockets. See if the projects were completed properly.

Our sage from the Show Me State is strongly concerned about global warming climate change, but he has told us on more than one occasion that he is very well-to-do; if his sparktricity bill triples, he can handle it easily, something that most people cannot do. Normal people can “care” about global warming climate change, but also care about more immediate needs, and believe that those needs outweigh whatever the temperature is in 2126.

Our Kentucky Kontrarian hints that energy prices are increasing because of concerns (and actions) regarding global warming, advocating a return to coal-fired power plants as a solution! That “reasonimg” ignores that natural gas is cheaper than coal.

We should all recognize that here in the United States, CO2 emissions have been dropping at a rate of about 1% per year for the past 20 years, athough global CO2 continues to increase (“thanks” to non-US, non-EU sources!). Polling shows that over 60% of United State residents undertand the dangers of continued global warming. Coincidentally (or not), 30-odd % believe global warming is not a problem and 30-odd % believe the Mad King is doing a good job. LOL.

The science denier (sorry Jl, but there is no other appropriate term) community (~35%) choose to ignore the reality of global warming. Today, you have an equally ignorant leader in the White House who does whatever is needed to succor his most fervent (and dumb) supporters (~35%).

BTW, our small, single-level house in MO is well-insulated, south and west exposures protected by deciduous trees (maple, sweetgum, oaks, locust, dogwood) in the summer which allows passive solar on clear days in the cold of winter!! We upgraded the windows to triple paned several years ago. Lighting is mostly LED. The roof is light and reflective, keeping the attic cooler than a dark roof. We drive but a few miles a week! Anyway, our natural gas and electricity bills are reasonably low, although we do pay a bit extra to support the nucular power plant in mid-MO.

Let’s repeat: CO2 added to our atmosphere from our burning of fossil fuels is causing the Earth to warm. Even deniers have come to accept the concepts of thermometer technology! Yay! But they argue that an increased mean global surface temperature of 3, 4 or 5 degrees F is not only not a threat but may be good for human civilization. Scientists and educated folks disagree with the deniers (aka 35%-ers).

Although Mr Dana repeatedly refers to “normal” Americans he has neglected to define that group. We suggest he means white, conservative christians who oppose brown/black immigrants, oppose LGBTQ human rights, feel that Black Americans are getting “too much stuff and attention”, education and research is a waste, but mostly people who believe as he does. Can 35% of population who agree with him be considered the “norm”.

“For the most part, the increase in electricity rates nationwide has been in line with overall inflation, although there has been a noticeable acceleration this year (2025).

Since 2005, the cost of generating power has declined significantly, partly because the fracking boom has made it much cheaper to extract and burn natural gas, the nation’s largest source of electricity. But over that same period, utilities have nearly tripled the amount they spend annually on the network of poles, wires, substations and transformers that deliver power to customers.”

Ah yes, deferred maintenance strikes again. Storms and wildfires have been blammed, in part.
