LOL: Minnesota, Twin Cities Sue Over Immigration Enforcement

Oh, this should be good, since enforcement of immigration laws is given to the federal government, and federal says those illegally present in the US should be detained and deported

Minnesota, Twin Cities sue Trump administration over unprecedented immigration operations

The state of Minnesota and the Twin Cities are suing the Trump administration, arguing the unprecedented federal immigration operation in the state is “a federal invasion,” and seeking a court order halting the crackdown, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

“This has to stop; it just has to stop,” Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said at a Monday news conference announcing the lawsuit.

The suit was filed shortly after Illinois and the city of Chicago also sued the Trump administration, alleging the Department of Homeland Security has terrorized residents in “organized bombardment.”

Both suits argue the federal government is violating the Tenth Amendment.

Suddenly Democrats like and recognized the 10th? Too bad it doesn’t apply

“Sanctuary politicians like Ellison are the EXACT reason that DHS surged to Minnesota in the first place,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“If he, Tim Walz, or Jacob Frey had just done their sworn duty to protect the people of Minnesota they are supposed to serve to root out fraud and get criminals off the street — if they had worked with us to do it — we wouldn’t be having this conversation in the first place,” McLaughlin said. (snip)

The lawsuit claims Operation Metro Surge is not a legitimate law enforcement action, but a retaliation effort against Democratic-led Minnesota, citing the president’s disparaging comments toward local officials.

“President Trump expressed the root of his displeasure in plain terms during a recorded interview: he essentially claimed that Minnesota is ‘corrupt’ and ‘crooked’ because its officials accurately reported election results and those results did not declare him the winner,” the lawsuit says, citing a January 9 interview by the president.

Are they arresting illegal aliens? Immigration agents are going to go where the illegals are. Anyhow, is there more to the suit, because it really is pretty weak

(NPR) State Attorney General Keith Ellison said in a press conference that federal agents during the surge have arrested peaceful bystanders, detained U.S. citizens and fired chemical irritants at demonstrators and others exercising their First Amendment rights, including outside a local high school. The lawsuit calls on the Trump administration to end its immigration crackdown in the state.

“Thousands of armed and masked DHS agents have stormed the Twin Cities to conduct militarized raids and carry out dangerous, illegal, and unconstitutional stops and arrests in sensitive public places, including schools and hospitals—all under the guise of lawful immigration enforcement,” the lawsuit says. The complaint also alleges that immigration agents have engaged in racial profiling.

Nice try throwing in the race card, but, if you Demorats would simply hold illegals who are detained by police for federal immigration authorities to come and get there wouldn’t be an issue. I mean, really, I’ve read about 10 different articles and few really go into any depth on the suit, just lots of feelings. And, what will most likely happen is a far left wacko judge will rule in Minnesota’s favor, and that will be quickly overturned on appeal.

Hmm, remember when the State of AZ tried to detain illegals at their southern border and the Biden clown show stepped in? They stopped the state claiming only the Federal Government had that right (and of course promptly didn’t do anything to stop the flow).

The untrained ICE thugs and goons are occupying US cities and killing US citizens. Is this trump shit-show doing any good? No.

trump et al claimed they were going after the worst of the worst, which was/is a lie.

“We” are importing untrained, trigger-happy, cos-playing pseudo-soldiers, wearing tactical gear and masks, carrying AR-15 style auto rifles, disguised and with no name tag IDs, into American cities.

Repeating lies and exaggerating doesn’t change reality.

The United States has deported over 600,000 illegals, and almost 2,000,000 more have “self-deported” back to their home countries, so yeah, a lot of good has been done. They can Make South America Great Again!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

It doesn’t take the trump shit-show to deport immigrants. It’s all for show. Untrained, heavily armed, disguised, cos-playing soldier wannabees, invading US cities and roughing up gardeners, teachers, construction workers, health workers, butchers, sometimes US citizens… 32 detainees died in custody in 2025.

The U.S. deported (repatriated) 1.1 million immigrants in 2023.
The U.S. deported (repatriated) 0.7 million immigrants in 2024.

Over 0.6 million in 2025. Great job donnie! But mostly political theater. Destabilizing the nation. Fostering civil war.

From 2017 through 2020 repatriations averaged about 40,000/mo.

From 2021 through 2023 repatriations averaged over 100,000/mo. In Mar 2022 alone, 147,100 were repatriated!!

Both Renee Good (dead) and Jonathan Ross (hiding) are unavailable for comment.

Over 60% of Americans think trump and his regime are f’ed up.

Whatever happened to “no one is above the law”?

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Yes, why isn’t trump in prison? He appears to be above the law.

Jonathan Ross appears to be above the law.

As we’ve explained. Not all laws are equal, are they?

Murder is a more serious crime than jaywalking.

Sexual assault is a more serious crime than being present without permission.

Fraud is a more serious crime than fishing with an expired license.

Pedophilia is more serious than “chicken processing without permission”.

The U.S. “tax gap” (tax fraud/avoidance) is about $1 trillion/year. That seems more serious than “roofing without permission”!

Congress passed a law ordering trump’s DOR (Dept of Retribution), headed by Pam Blondi, to release the Epstein files. trump and her have yet to release the files, almost a month long violation of federal law!! They have released 1%.

What is trump hiding? Why is he bombing boaters and invading nations as a distraction.

Mr Trump was hauled before the courts in the Empire State, and yes, he was convicted of 34 felonies in trumped-up charges. He also went before the judge following his convictions and was sentenced . . . to no time in prison. You might not like that outcome, but Mr Trump went through due process of law.

President Trump was twice impeached by the Democrats controlling the House of Representatives at the time . . . and twice acquitted by the Senate, in the due process specified by the Constitution of the United States.

It is true that our laws have stricter sentences for some crimes than others, but part of that due process of law is that things you believe about your 47th President have never been proven in a court of law.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Our trump apologist from K-Y, admits we have stricter sentences for some crimes than others, but importantly we enforce some laws much more strictly than others.

34 felony convictions but no jail time!!! Isn’t that special. LOL.

Judge Merchan clearly stated that… “because of the defendant, this was an extraordinary trial, and sentencing him would be the same. Merchan said that, if Donald Trump had been a regular citizen, a regular defendant, that he would have likely have faced much harsher punishment for those crimes.

But because Donald Trump is about to become president of the United States again, that comes with the enormous protections, the judge said. Those are granted by the Constitution, many other courts, and most recently interpreted again by the Supreme Court last year.”

trump voters saved his sorry ass from jail. Congratulations. No one is above the law but some are more above the law than others. At least he can’t legally have firearms. Wow. A commander-in-chief who can’t have firearms. LOL.

  4. […] guess that this isn’t much of a surprise: it seems that the state of Minnesota and city of Minneapolis are suing the federal government to stop enforcing ou… as […]

  5. Jl says:

As opposed to the 6-7 million illegals that Biden let enter from Jan. 2021 to Dec. 2023. That number is obviously higher as it doesn’t include 2024. 1 step fwd, 10 steps back…..

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Illegal immigration estimated to have grown from roughly 10.5 million in 2021 to a peak around 14 million in 2023-2024, according to various reports from Pew Research Center and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

So more WERE entering than were being deported. So what? What’s the problem?

      • drowningpuppies says:

ICE arrests dozens of criminal illegal aliens convicted of murder, child rape and more in sanctuary state Minnesota just 3 days ago.
