Trump Is Briefed on Options for Striking Iran as Protests Continue
President Trump has been briefed in recent days on new options for military strikes in Iran as he considers following through on his threat to attack the country for cracking down on protesters, according to multiple U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
Mr. Trump has not made a final decision, but the officials said he was seriously considering authorizing a strike in response to the Iranian regime’s efforts to suppress demonstrations set off by widespread economic grievances. The president has been presented with a range of options, including strikes on nonmilitary sites in Tehran, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential conversations.
Asked about planning for potential strikes, the White House referred to Mr. Trump’s public comments and social media posts in recent days.
“Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before,” Mr. Trump wrote on social media on Saturday. “The USA stands ready to help!!!”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone on Saturday morning with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, according to three people with knowledge of the call. The two leaders discussed the protests in Iran, along with the situation in Syria and a peace deal in Gaza, the three people said.
And you can bet the line of attack will be that Trump is striking Iran for the Jeeeeeewwwwws and Israel. So far it is quiet, as all the moonbats are focused on Minneapolis. Hopefully Trump greenlights taking out all the Iranian leadership, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkia.

Let’s suppose that there is an airstrike which sends Ali Khamenei and the rest of the mad mullahs to their eternal rewards; yes, that changes the government, but it makes the government change an American coup, not something the Iranian people themselves chose, and, in the long run, will wind up making Iran less friendly.

But I agree with you and do not support any sort of strikes against Iran. This has been a Neo-con wet dream since 2000 and NOT what I voted for. Trump did a good job in his first term avoiding generals and CIA agents bringing plans to strike Iran for one reason or another. If he believes them this time peddling the same lies, I will NEVER vote for him again.
From what I am reading, the silly Iranians actually want the Shah back. At least the only Iranians that the international news monolith will report. And of course, we have already established how reliable they are.

Anyway, Mr trump has invaded and plans to occupy Venezuela for the good of America AND the Venezuelans, and NOT for the oil giants he met with in OUR Oval Office the other day. No doubt he has OUR military making plans for interventions in… let’s see, so far: Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Denmark/Greenland, Canada, Minnesota, Argentina and now Iran. To be fair, some of these could just be brief bombing campaigns as previously seen in Nigeria, Yemen, Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Others, like Minnesota, could be longer term. BTW, he covets and hopes to receive Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado’s Nobel Prize in exchange for his support of her. I advise My Maria (h/t B.W. Stevenson) to not trust The Don.
Way back when, we “dropped” resources on foreign countries through USAID, to help end extreme poverty, promote democratic societies, and advance U.S. security and prosperity by providing humanitarian assistance, health support, economic development, and disaster relief. Things like delivering food and medicine, fighting diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and polio, supporting education, promoting good governance, empowering women, and responding to crises. Mr trump felt USAID was $30-40 billion wasted and that bombs, armadas in the Caribbean, aircraft, polio, malaria, starvation, Ebola and AIDS were a cheaper and more effective approach.
Why spend $1 Trillon (that’s $1,000,000,000,000) a year on a War Department if you don’t make War???
