WP Super Upset Over ICE’s At Large Arrests

We’ve already seen several hyper-left wing judges attempt to rule that immigration enforcement cannot arrest illegal aliens in courthouses, schools, daycare centers (they weren’t), churches, and so many other “sensitive” place. How soon till some wacko judge says ICE cannot arrest illegals in the streets?

ICE shift in tactics leads to soaring number of at-large arrests, data shows

The Trump administration’s mass deportation campaign has led to a significant change in strategy, as federal officers shift away from focusing on arresting immigrants already held in local jails to tracking them down on the streets and in communities, according to a Washington Post analysis of government data.

The result has been a huge surge of such at-large arrests, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement tallying about 17,500 in September and on pace to exceed that in October. (The data The Post examined had been updated through the middle of that month.) That was far more than any other month included in the data, which dated back to October 2011.

The Post’s analysis highlights a broader pattern in how the Department of Homeland Security is approaching enforcement, even as authorities insist that immigration officers are focusing on violent criminals whom they describe as “the worst of the worst.” Government data shows that more than 60 percent of the people detained in at-large arrests since June did not have criminal convictions or pending charges.

So, you mean that 40% are bad people, and the rest got scooped up because they were known illegal aliens? Cool!

Many local jails flag undocumented immigrants for removal and contact ICE directly. ICE also has the authority to monitor local arrests through a fingerprint-sharing program. The agency often files a detainer requesting that jails hold potential deportees for up to 48 hours for federal officers to take custody.

By comparison, at-large arrests typically require more human and financial resources to carry out, immigration experts said. ICE’s website says that such arrests “are unpredictable and can be dangerous to the public.”

So, wouldn’t it make more sense for all those sanctuary jurisdictions, which tend to have higher, denser populations and lots of illegals, to cooperate with ICE, therefore taking the bad folks away and keeping ICE busy doing that, meaning less time to go after the little angels (who are breaking 8 U.S. Code § 1325?

Ronald Reagan said he believed in amnesty for immigrants here for years who built an American life, even if their entrance was illegal. But then, Reagan, for all his flaws, believed in American greatness.

Mr Elwood P Dowd told us:

Ronald Reagan said he believed in amnesty for immigrants here for years who built an American life, even if their entrance was illegal. But then, Reagan, for all his flaws, believed in American greatness.

President Reagan offered amnesty for the illegals, along with increased border security to reduce the flow of new illegals into our country. Why? Because he could not wrap his head around a solution to the illegals already here.

This is part of the brilliance of Donald Trump. He knew it would be hard, and resisted by the loonies on the left, but he saw the solution to the illegals already here, was not to reward their lawbreaking with amnesty, but to do what the law already prescribes, and that’s to round them up and kick them out!

Why the difference? Mr Reagan was a nice guy, as most of our Presidents have been, while Mr Trump is an absolute [insert slang term for the anus here]. But President Trump’s base realizes very well that sometimes you need an [insert slang term for the anus here] to get things done. We want an [insert slang term for the anus here] in the White House, to do what previous nice guys would not.

Of course, our good friends on the left kept screaming that “no one is above the law,” or at least they were were doing so when they wanted to imprison Mr Trump. Why should we not believe them as President Trump starts enforcing our immigration laws? You should be supporting this, and you are a hypocrite if you do not.

Dana appears to believe/feel that 1) all acts are equivalent, e.g., jaywalking and being present in the U.S. without permission are offenses as serious as the attempted violent overthrow of the U.S. government or sexual assault of minors and 2) that America requires periods of unConstitutional and un-Jesus-like assholery to return us to our 18th Century roots. The majority of Americans disagree with his assessment. But authoritarians believe as he does.

Dana purports to being a Catholic, one of the christian cults, but doesn’t follow the teachings of Christ, making Dana a hypocrite.

Many of the ICE/DHS thugs break actual laws but the hypocritical MAGAts such as Dana stay quiet. Are all laws not equal?
