I’m thinking there should some seriously pointed questions to the City Of Raleigh mayor, council, employees involved, and more
Federal immigration raids in Raleigh impact one of the city’s largest projects
One of the first casualties of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s planned crackdown in the capital city was Raleigh’s new City Hall.
The $260 million building, which will be 17 stories when it’s complete, is being built on the site of the city’s former police station. Normally the site is buzzing with activity. On the morning of Nov. 18, hours after word of the immigration raids spread, work was at a standstill. Heavy equipment was parked. Workers were scarce.
“Usually you have at least about 200 people on the site,” Bob Johnson, one of the few construction workers on the site, told NC Newsline.
He acknowledged that his coworkers were worried about ICE agents.
“There’s a lot that can’t be done. I mean, you have framing, electrical, you have guys working painting, you know, precast,” said Johnson. “There’s a lot of trades that are not here because of that situation.”
So, essentially, the City Of Raleigh is implicated in hiring illegal aliens and people unauthorized to work in the United States.
While federal agents have said the raids are designed to target criminals, Johnson said most of the people he works with on the City Hall project are here because they want a better opportunity until they can attain legal status.
But, they do not HAVE legal status. Who hired them? Who checked their credentials to be able to work in the U.S. on a project for the government?

One of the first casualties of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s planned crackdown in the capital city was Raleigh’s new City Hall.

The average length of time an undocumented person has been in the USA is 10 years. They work here on ITNs paying taxes and social security. They get paid by cheque with state and fed deductions. These delays in construction time will cost millions to the city. Nationwide 1/3 of all construction workers are foreign born. Companies prefer them. They know their jobs and work hard. They also file fewer frivolous workplace injury claims. Like “ohhhh my back hurts”

And that means that the illegal person has presented falsified or stolen documents, a felony, to have the employer fill out Immigration Form I-9 to enable his employment. It also shows a pattern of the employers looking the other way, at the very least, at falsified documents, when the eVerify system is easily available to check these things.
Is Mr smith² telling us that he finds these crimes acceptable?
The “average length of time an undocumented (sic) person has been in the USA is 10 years.” huh? So, they came in when Barack Hussein Obama was President? Yup, that figures.
During his first term, President Trump took serious efforts to close the border, and though not all illegal — not just ‘undocumented’ — border crossers were stopped, the flow was greatly reduced. President Biden practically threw open the floodgates during his four miserable years, and the younger President Bush, sad to say, didn’t do much to stem the flow of illegal border crossers and visa overstays. President Trump has been the only President in recent history who has attempted to actually do his duty to enforce the laws and security of the United States.
No wonder he wasn’t invited to attend the funeral of former Vice President Dick Cheney! He is the only President in recent memory to do the right things!
When will the EMPLOYERS (mostly white men) be arrested for Their felonies?
Are those primitive brown Mexicans so clever that they outwit rich white men?
No employers = no illegal workers!!
Piggy Donnie has redefined “asshole politician”.
So, this wasn’t some medium sized contractor out building homes in the suburbs, but a major project for the city itself, which doubtlessly had city, and probably state inspectors on the job every day, and no one checked to see if all of the workers there were legally in the country?
List it as “under the table payoffs”.
A minor expense.
Arrest the contractors! Lock them up!
