Most of the people expected to die from soaring temperatures in the coming decades live in poor, hot countries in Africa and South Asia, according to recent research. Many of these countries emitted relatively little of the pollution that causes climate change — and are least prepared to cope with the increasing heat.
ProPublica and the Guardian’s analysis shows that extra greenhouse gases released in the next decade as a result of Trump’s policies are expected to lead to as many as 1.3 million more temperature-related deaths worldwide in the 80 years after 2035. The actual number of people who die from heat will be much higher, but a warming planet will also result in fewer deaths from cold.

Mr Twain would be going too far to describe white christendom over the centuries as a voracious plague of locusts destroying all our Brothers Sitting in Darkness far-flung in Africa, Asia and, of course, the primitive Americas. That would be too far.
Considering who made the analysis, no other conclusion could be expected. But if the “vast majority” of these anticipated deaths occur outside of the United States, then at least our “America First” policies are working!
President Trump is looking at the big picture, the part of the big picture which includes the

There is little doubt that in the U.S. cold kills people, largely from the “communicable diseases of winter”, the flu, Covid, RSV, and 400-500 carbon monoxide deaths. A/C kills fewer than does CO!! There are more fatal auto accidents in late summer and early fall than in winter!
We suspect the authors WERE aware of all the studies, some of which claim cold kills more!!
Does any of this suggest that global warming is benign? Nah.
But relax!! Neither America nor the lesser nations of the world will limit global warming. And we’ll all be dead by the worst of it! Our grandkids, great-grandkids and others will deal with it. Our scientific betters, mostly bloggers, commenters, GOPhers and lobbyists, do not consider a 3°F increase in the global mean surface temperature to be meaningful. But how about 6°F?
