It’s only October, this seems a little early for normal cult propaganda
Amid a chilly winter, it’s tempting to dismiss the effects of the changing climate. But one expert explained how one doesn’t negate the other.
In a video shared by AAP FactCheck (@aapfactcheck) on TikTok, Susie Dodds of the Australian Associated Press detailed why folks in the Land Down Under may have been uncomfortably cold in July.
First, the middle months of the year are winter in the Southern Hemisphere. She also said Australian homes are notoriously poorly insulated, citing half a dozen articles about the issue. Dodds then detailed the crux of the issue.
“A cold snap in July doesn’t suddenly erase decades of evidence supporting the reality of global warming,” she said. “And while you’re rugged up wearing three jumpers indoors, parts of the Northern Hemisphere are experiencing record-breaking heat waves. And that’s exactly what scientists have been warning us about.”
So, see, it gets cold in the Southern hemisphere in July because it is winter, and, it is your fault. And warm weather doom is coming.
The consequences are myriad, including health problems, disease spread, and rising sea levels.
“Weather does not equal climate,” Dodds added, explaining that the former describes daily conditions, such as wind, rain, and low temperatures. The latter describes a “long-term pattern over decades,” and this has been changing outside of what would have been normal since 1850, or after the Industrial Revolution.
Doom! And the long term weather does create climate.
Scientists have proved that rising global temperatures are caused by humans’ use of dirty energy sources, which causes the release of heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere. They envelop Earth like an invisible blanket, preventing the sun’s warmth from escaping into space just enough to make a significant difference; 90% of this excess energy is absorbed by the ocean, making hurricanes and other extreme weather events more severe.
Droughts, floods, heat waves, and more are also happening more frequently. This is causing weather whiplash, one of the clearest signs that planetary systems are out of balance. As Dodds said, the changing climate results in not just hotter weather but also “more extreme, unpredictable, and chaotic weather.”
Well, the article is in The Cool Down, so, yeah, everything is doomsday cult propaganda.

I’ve kind of been looking forward to winter, not really for the cold, but I’m anxious to see how Sammy, our half Lab/half Great Pyrenees, reacts to snowy weather . . . assuming we get any. The Bluegrass State isn’t exactly known for snow.
Mrs Pico is now retired, so there’s no worrying about her having to get to work on a snowy morning.
I can picture it: eight inches of snow on the ground, the pantry and refrigerator well-stocked, a fire going in the fireplace, and no place we have to be! Life is good!
At what point in the history of life on this planet has the climate not been changing? It’s either warming or cooling, it’s either doing it quickly or slowly. Attempting to alter those facts with taxes and regulations is simply foolish.
The Earth’s climates always change! For example 3 BILLION years ago, before God created the Earth, the Earth was super hot, with high CO2, covered in water, with NO oxygen!! High CO2, super hot with NO SUVs!! Impossible, right?
100 MILLION years ago, CO2 was some 600 ppm, it was super hot and humid, again, with no SUVs. Importantly, not a single human died from excess heat 100 MILLION years ago!!! Not one!!
The Chicxulub asteroid impact 66 million years ago caused an abrupt, long-lasting global warming event, with temperatures rising about 5°C for ~100,000 years due to the release of carbon dioxide from carbonate rocks (NO SUVs!!!) – all natural – causing the mass extinction of dinosaurs. Again, although CO2 reached 2000 ppm, NO humans were harmed. New York, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Sydney, Cape Town etc were not even flooded!!
1 MILLION years ago, CO2 had dropped to about 300 ppm, even without the IPCC!!
Until the past century CO2 stayed around 260-300 ppm!! Some scientists claim the human species (Homo sapiens) is only some 300,000 years old! CO2 exceeded 300 ppm around 1910 and has risen steadily to 424 ppm, the highest level in at least 1 million years. A quadratic function describes the increase – the rate of increase is increasing.
