One of my favorite Rush songs all time, plus, the version of Exit…Stage Left is dynamite
I’ve deactivated the plugin that allowed things like making text bold, adding links, etc, in the comments to see if it speeds up comments. The plugin was last updated 2 years ago. If deactivating makes a difference I may look for a much newer one, since I cannot use the Jetpack one as I do not use the block editor. Not sure how anyone uses those, so annoying.
I may end up just deleting all comments and starting fresh. There are a lot in the server, having had this blog for a long time. Notice that many blogs just stopped allowing comments. I may try using Disqus.
I may also try switching to a built in WordPress theme. This theme is very, very, very old, and, I’ve had WP kill themes in the past.
Let me know if comments are processing quicker over the next 24 hours. Things are running quick now, but, can get those slowdowns. Thank you.

This is a test of comment speed
So far, Hello Elementor theme under WP works well for me. Of course I do use Elementor to build the site, Used to use Weaver theme but it was iffy. Elementor is basically drag and drop.
I might try playing with the blocks on my development site, though, not sure if Jetpack comments with markdown will even play nice with this theme
I’m not sure who had the brainchild for the block editor. When the free version of WP was threatening everyone with “Thou shalt use the block editor” I went back to Blogger. There is (or at least was) a work around for a while, but it is annoying. Of course so is Blogger – it’s Google, after all.
I use a plugin to make editing “classic”. You’d think WP would easily give you the option you want
Tech companies stopped listening to what users wanted when Jobs was running Apple. And in some respects he had a point. No one was asking for the smartphone before it came out, though combining the cellphone and the MP3 player should have been obvious.
But they went from “You don’t know what great technological breakthrough” we have to “You will own nothing and shut up about it.”
What was the last thing that a tech company introduced that had the impact of the smartphone? It was probably the smartphone.
Speed of commenting and speed of the site seems good.
Beats me.
But, thanks for the tunes!,,
A lot of sites us disqus that i visit and i’ve never had any problems commenting on them..
