Documents Show E.P.A. Wants to Erase Greenhouse Gas Limits on Power Plants
The Environmental Protection Agency has drafted a plan to eliminate all limits on greenhouse gases from coal and gas-fired power plants in the United States, according to internal agency documents reviewed by The New York Times.
In its proposed regulation, the agency argued that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from power plants that burn fossil fuels “do not contribute significantly to dangerous pollution” or to climate change because they are a small and declining share of global emissions. Eliminating those emissions would have no meaningful effect on public health and welfare, the agency said.
But in the United States, the power sector was the second biggest source of greenhouse gases, behind transportation, according to the most recent data available on the E.P.A. website. And globally, power plants account for about 30 percent of the pollution that is driving climate change.
What will you do without power? Natural gas is cheap, abundant, affordable, and easy. The power plants have small footprints, unlike solar and wind. And provide a hell of a lot more power for the cost and footprint. Maybe if the Warmists would let us build nuclear power plants we could have what they call sustainable power.
The E.P.A. sent the draft to the White House for review on May 2. It could undergo changes before it is formally released and the public is given the opportunity to offer comments, likely in June.

I’m actually rather surprised that Trump and his folks are missing the opportunity to tell Warmists to practice what they preach. To give up their own use of fossil fuels and make their lives carbon neutral.

Strange renewables have put the German chemical, steel and auto industries out of business out of business. They have the British public screaming. In Spain it caused a national power failure because of its reliability. Its expensive, unreliable, and faulty. Only someone with Biden’s iQ would defend it.
The United States has the world’s fourth largest proven coal reserves, so it’s stupid to just leave it in the ground; that’s real wealth. But, at least right now, natural gas is less expensive than coal, and the percentage of sparktricity generated by burning coal has dropped significantly.
Think how much we’d be able to better the lives of people in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania is we were to increase our use of coal!

I am a retired Electrical Engineer that worked most of my life in Telecom but also spent time setting up power in buildings. The present power grid needs to be updated as most of it is too old, it can be affected by weather and in all areas cannot handle the future needs.
This EPA change is needed across the country. More and more power is needed as higher data growth is in the future especially with the plans for AI. I do not want AI at all anywhere as it will not be good for people and it will take large amounts of energy to run.
All power companies in the US need to stop with solar and wind turbines as they do not produce enough power for the amount of money and time of use. The companies need to go to Nuclear, Natural Gas, Coal, Hydroelectric, and Biomass.

About 20 years, after just retiring, I decided to build a house that would survive when the grid went down and pay for its energy use by selling back.
Don’t remember all the details but I went the full monte. Solar panels, battery room, batteries for 24 hours at 1/2 load, 7 days at full emergency, rectifiers/chargers, transfer switches, etc. At that time Dallas was big into buy back so the gave me the numbers I could epect.
Then I did a ROI and it looked goooooooood…. Until I plugged in the EOL for the panels and the batteries……The panels went EOL at about 15 years…I don’t remember the batteries.
Short answer. I could never break even.
So if you want to be secure, do it. But it’s gonna cost.
Mr trump needs to instruct the energy companies to re-re-retrofit their plants to burn coal. Maybe he can put a tariff on U.S. producers of natural gas to make coal economic again.
Make KY and WV great again! Air and water pollution (scam) are make-believe problems! We have 1000 years worth of coal but libs have mandated that we can’t use it!!

And what does one do with the tons of sulfur dioxide adsorbed by the “scrubbers”? And the mountains of coal ash?
Perhaps all the toxic coal ash can be shipped to the states where the coal is mined. West Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
