There are consequences for actions, and, really, if the judge is found guilty, she should not only get the maximum but receive an enhancement because she’s a judge and does know better
Wisconsin judge indicted in immigration case
A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted a Wisconsin judge accused of helping a man evade immigration authorities, allowing the case against her to continue.
The arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan escalated a clash between President Donald Trump’s administration and local authorities over the Republican’s sweeping immigration crackdown. Democrats have accused the Trump administration of trying to make a national example of Dugan to chill judicial opposition to the crackdown.
That’s where Politico, and other Credentialed Media outlets, goes? Eduardo Flores-Ruiz was in court for assaulting people, including women.
Prosecutors charged Dugan in April via complaint with concealing an individual to prevent arrest and obstruction. In the federal criminal justice system, prosecutors can initiate charges against a defendant directly by filing a complaint or present evidence to a grand jury and let that body decide whether to issue charges.
A grand jury still reviews charges brought by complaint to determine whether enough probable cause exists to continue the case as a check on prosecutors’ power. If the grand jury determines there’s probable cause, it issues a written statement of the charges known as an indictment. That’s what happened in Dugan’s case.
Dugan faces up to six years in prison if she’s convicted on both counts. Her team of defense attorneys responded to the indictment with a one-sentence statement saying that she maintains her innocence and looks forward to being vindicated in court. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Thursday.
Well, I wouldn’t expect her defense team to say anything different, but, it’s a pretty slam dunk case for the prosecution. There are plenty of witness, and, was caught doing it. But, hey, if the Trump admin wanted a national example, Dugan walked right into it by breaking multiple laws

Once “fixed”, the dictator party will gradually restore some aspects of a new controlled democratic republic.

I would be in favor of a penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole for everyone involved in an abortion: the ‘mother,’ the abortionist, as well as any nurses, technicians, and office staff involved in setting it up, performing it, or paying/receiving money for it. Prenatal infanticide should be treated as first-degree murder.
I once did a back-of-the-envelope calculation, which did involve several assumptions, which told me that if black women had abortions at the same rate as white women, over the last 40 years, blacks would constitute 17% of the population, rather than the 13.5% that is the case now.

Before we start locking up ‘mothers’ for life, how do we differentiate an abortion from a miscarriage? Should women be forced to report their pregnancies to the authorities so they can be monitored? At least half the pre-natal ‘babies’ are lost very early. Often the ‘mother’ doesn’t even know. Would you monitor the ‘cycles’ of females from 13 to 45, perhaps straining their toilet contents for an 8 cell embryo?
If Uncle Ernie rapes 11 year old Carol and gets her pregnant, would you permit her an abortion or force her to carry the conceptus to term, at signficant physical and psychological risk? And what of the unwanted infant?
Would you charge the fathers with a crime if the mother’ obtained an abortion? He’s at least as culpable as the clerk.

In 2019 in MA under a US attorney appointed by Trump a state judge was arrested and indicted on similar charges and with equal notoriety. Those charges were later dismissed. That arrest received a posting by Mr Teach, the later dismissal was never noted
There are very very few federal trials in the USA each year. in 2022 out of 70000 convictions less than 300 went to trial. That judge will demand an expedited trial, in less than 90 days.
