I’m not sure what was going through the Supreme Courts mind on this one
The Trump administration on Saturday released the rap sheets and photos of alleged Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members detained in Texas who the administration is trying to deport.
The suspects of the violent Venezuelan gang were going to be deported using the recently reinstated Alien Enemies Act of 1798 before the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruled Saturday morning against deportations under the 18th century law.
In a decision in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union, the administration was barred from removing Venezuelans held in Texas’ Bluebonnet Detention Center “until further order of this court.”
It was 7-2, with Thomas and Alito dissenting
“These are some of the TdA gang members detained in Texas that we are trying to deport,” a senior Trump official told Fox News.
TdA, designated a foreign terrorist organization Feb. 20 by the Department of State, has thousands of members, many of whom the White House says have unlawfully infiltrated the U.S. and are “undertaking hostile actions against the United States.”
Photos released by the administration of suspected TdA members who made the list show various tattoos, weapons, jewelry and money.
Let’s meet a few of these upstanding illegals
Henry Romero-Gonzalez has pending criminal charges for three counts of assault, crimes against a person and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to officials.
Alessandro Benedikt Parades-Worwa is facing criminal charges for aggravated assault with a weapon and pointing and presenting guns at a person, according to the Trump administration.
Cristian Andres Andrade-Vargas is facing criminal charges for larceny and dangerous drugs, according to officials.
Angel Ignacio Cardenas-Bravo is facing criminal charges for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, child neglect with great bodily harm, resisting an officer with violence, domestic violence battery, carrying a concealed gun and possession of a gun during the commission of a felony, according to the Trump administration.
And there are several more at the link. Why, exactly, did four Conservatives vote to keep these scumbags in the country? It’s a temporary order till “judicial review” occurs. Why? We start with them being here illegally. That’s all that’s necessary. Many of them do have visible TdA tattoos.

It appears the high Court doesn’t trust the administration to practice care and due legal process in deportations. After all,the administration has discussed deporting citizens AND have disobeyed court orders. The recent history proves that if a ‘mistake’ is made the administration has no intent to remedy it.
If President AOC semt Donald Trump to El Salvador wouldn’t you want him to have a day in court? If you were deported for a foreign-sounding name wouldn’t you want due process? What if you were deported after being merely accused of sedition?? Remember – we’re a nation on law, not personality defects!!
ED: “It appears the high Court doesn’t trust the administration…”
You know what’s really hilarious? Bernie Sanders going on his Fight the Oligarchy tour while not wanting to touch the Supreme Court oligarchy with a 10-foot pole.
Good times.
Sanders IS the oligarchy he warns you about.
They fear death. The SCOTUS is probably afraid for their lives, by the left and by actual gang members.
In the 1990s, the high courts ruled that Bill Clinton, aka the president, had sole discretion regarding immigration. HE COULD RETURN ELIAN GONZALEZ(sp) back to communist cuba and a father that was really not even his father.
Now today SCOTUS is ruling that murdering rapists who have come to the USA illegally cannot be deported. JUST THEM. The rest of the people can be deported if the USA wants.
FEAR……..SCOTUS is filled with COWARDLY SCUMBAGS. Its as simple as that. We are now officially a third world country and our downfall is imminent.
Nonsense. The Supremes are afraid of America becoming a dictatorship instead of a republic.
Yes, a dictatorship of lawless circuit court judges. Oral arguments to be heard by SCOTUS May 15th on the issue of circuit court jurisdiction. Oral arguments are almost never heard in May as that’s when opinions start being released
Nah. The federal judges do not generate de novo rulings but respond to laws and policies generated by the other branches. It’s the Constitution!
Absolutely nothing in the Constitution about a district court judge ruling affecting the whole country. What’s crazy is that, as far as I know – if, for example the 5th Court of Appeals makes a ruling-that ruling is only binding on the states covered by that Appeals court. But a ruling from a district court judge, which sits below the Appeals Courts, has a national ruling.
FEAR… THE WHITE HOUSE is filled with COWARDLY SCUMBAGS… it’s as simple as that.
I think the fat man is drunk. Cowards?
Fat Jeff is wrong and making stuff up.
What else is new?
Fat boy hasn’t the faintest acquaintance with the truth.
Bwaha!
The supremes didnt say they couldnt be deported. Only that they couldn’t be deported YET. They get a habius hearing first where the govt shows they have the right person. A really low bar to meet.
Trump getting these rulings out of the way quickly.
Weeks not months or years.
Bwaha! Lolgf Losers!
MAGA47 – Always Two Steps Ahead
Three words for you
SECRET MIDNIGHT FLIGHTS.
I mean Biden flew them into the USA in the middle of the night….Lets return the courtesy!
I don’t know why folk are getting bent out of shape over the age of that enemy aliens law. After all, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it’s even older.
So the question is when did citizens of other nations gain USA constitutional rights?
Puppies, Some of the rights in the Constitution are considered under law to be universally applied to everyone present in the USA.
But the real point here is that Van Hollen is lying. He is claiming it isn’t about one man, but it sort of seems like it is. Van Hollen fully supported the multiple violations of Trump’s civil rights by the Biden administration and the Obama administration. Van Hollen didn’t say a peep about hundreds of people being held without bond for Jan 6 “riots”. The Left keeps repeating that Abrego did not get due process, but he appeared in court on three different occasions. Each time, he was represented by a free lawyer. That is a whole lot more due process than I would ever get. The ACLU certainly would never lift a finger to defend my rights.
The fact is, Abrego had valid deportation orders against him that were upheld in court. His claim to asylum was denied in court. The USA owes him no further due process other than ensuring they are actually deporting Abrego and not someone else with the same name.
The prison he is rotting in in El Salvador is because El Salvador considers him a criminal and he is getting all the due process their system extends. They don’t want him wandering loose on their streets either.
