On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Addressing Risks From Paul Weiss.” This follows similar orders relating to Perkins Coie, the firm that was involved in trying to rig the 2016 presidential election by fabricating the “Steele dossier” on behalf of the Clinton campaign, and Covington & Burling, one of the top firms in Washington, D.C.

How many millions will this cost taxpayers?? All to help Africans!

A National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored clinical trial of a candidate vaccine to prevent Lassa fever has begun enrolling participants at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. Lassa fever is a viral hemorrhagic disease that can be fatal and that causes permanent hearing loss in up to one-third of those who contract it. Lassa virus is spread by rodents, known as multimammate rats, that are native to many countries in West Africa. The virus can also be spread from person to person.

Trump has been stopping clinical studies in progress, maybe he can stop this one.

President Donald Trump said Monday he was ending “immediately” the Secret Service protection details assigned to Democrat Joe Biden’s adult children, which the former president had extended to July shortly before leaving office in January.

The Republican president on social media objected to what he said were 18 agents assigned to Hunter Biden’s protective detail while in South Africa this week. He said Ashley Biden has 13 agents assigned to her detail and that she too “will be taken off the list.”

The New York Times just admitted—in the smallest, sneakiest way possible—that we were all LIED TO about COVID’s origins. Turns out, scientists and public health officials knew the virus likely came from a lab, but they scrubbed emails, used burner phones, and conspired to hide the truth. And now, after years of smearing anyone who questioned them as “dangerous misinformation spreaders,” they’re casually saying, “Oops! Maybe we were misled.”
But don’t worry! No one’s facing consequences. No one’s apologizing. Instead, the experts just want to “restore trust in science” so they can gaslight us all over again for the next crisis.

Remember the irate commenter here who used to call those of us who knew this “deniers”.

Last week we also got the news that German intelligence had placed blame on Wuhan clinic at 95% confidence, but Merkel put a lid on the report getting out because it would make Trump look good before the 2020 election and she wanted Biden to win. Democrats and their European allies lied to everyone for personal benefit and people died. No consequences. If you died, tough luck. Broken eggs and all that.

New York Times also knew with certainty that Biden was unfit to serve in 2020 but covered for him anyway. Then they covered for him until the 2024 election and then they covered for Harris. It’s almost as if they were getting paid by the Biden administration through a USAID grant or something.

      • Professor Hale says:

Addendum: If German intelligence knew it, so did UK intelligence, Australian intelligence, French intelligence, Japanese intelligence, AND AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE. And they all kept the secret to help Biden get elected.

The New York Times admitted no such thing. The Opinion piece was by Zeynep Tufekci, who concluded:

We may not know exactly how the Covid pandemic started, but if research activities were involved, that would mean two out of the last four or five pandemics were caused by our own scientific mishaps.

The one scientific reference she supplied (Cell Feb 2025), which she claimed supported the lab leak theory, didn’t. Perhaps her point was that since the viruses were sequenced in a lab, they could leak from the lab? Or that since some of the scientists were from Wuhan we better prepare for the next pandemic?

Merbecoviruses comprise four viral species with remarkable genetic diversity: MERS-related coronavirus, Tylonycteris bat coronavirus HKU4, Pipistrellus bat coronavirus HKU5, and Hedgehog coronavirus 1. However, the potential human spillover risk of animal merbecoviruses remains to be investigated. Here, we reported the discovery of HKU5-CoV lineage 2 (HKU5-CoV-2) in bats that efficiently utilize human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) as a functional receptor and exhibits a broad host tropism. Cryo-EM analysis of HKU5-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD) and human ACE2 complex revealed an entirely distinct binding mode compared with other ACE2-utilizing merbecoviruses with RBD footprint largely shared with ACE2-using sarbecoviruses and NL63. Structural and functional analyses indicate that HKU5-CoV-2 has a better adaptation to human ACE2 than lineage 1 HKU5-CoV. Authentic HKU5-CoV-2 infected human ACE2-expressing cell lines and human respiratory and enteric organoids. This study reveals a distinct lineage of HKU5-CoVs in bats that efficiently use human ACE2 and underscores their potential zoonotic risk.

Which, of course, concludes that there can be other viruses in NATURE that could be potential human pathogens.

The CIA, Dept of Energy and FBI suggest, with low confidence, that the lab leak hypothesis is plausible. That hasn’t changed.

So, yes, 1) we need to assure that viral research labs adhere to high security standards, and 2) we need to be prepared for the next global pandemic. Abandoning WHO, USAID, and CDC/NIH funding is not going to help.

The commenter likely got their marching orders from a second-hand right-wing source.
