Several Conservative States Look To Mirror Florida’s Parental Rights Bill

Of course, leftist “news” outlets are still pimping them as “don’t say gay,” because being honest and doing actual journalism has long left the building

Red states consider Florida-style ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bills

Conservative state lawmakers across the country are considering new legislation that would bar teachers from introducing concepts of sexual orientation or gender identity to young students, imitating a new Florida law that opponents have dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

Lawmakers in Ohio and Louisiana have filed legislation that mimics the Florida law, signed last month by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). In Texas, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), who controls the state Senate, said he would make his state’s version of the bill a top priority in the next legislative session.

The specifics of the measures vary between states, but they largely contain provisions that mirror the Florida law. The bills would bar schools from using curriculum that includes topics about sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Louisiana version would bar educators and school employees from discussing their own sexual orientation or gender identity with any student through 12th grade.

“There’s no need for any child to ever know the private life of their educator,” state Rep. Dodie Horton (R), the bill’s chief sponsor, told KSLA-TV. “It’s not prejudice to one group or another. It just doesn’t discuss it at all.”

That might be going a bit too far, but, why do teachers even need to discuss any of this stuff? It doesn’t help juveniles in the least. It has nothing to do with the subject matter the people are hired to teach. Why are schools hiring people who feel the need to discuss private, adult sexual issues in the first place? Especially since so many of them seem more invested in their “activism” than performing the job. And we all know that these unhinged lunatics will use these discussion to push the kids. Indoctrinate them

Opponents of the measures say they intentionally target students who are already at risk.

“All of these curriculum censorship bills seek to erase and stigmatize young people who already experience marginalization,” said Aaron Ridings, chief of staff and deputy executive director for public policy and research at GLSEN, a group founded by teachers that supports LGBTQ youth. “All elected officials should be getting back to work on reopening schools and making sure that young people can learn and thrive and reach their own potential. These bills are a step backward.”

They do not target the students: they target the supposed adults who have captive audiences to groom.

https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1511145810414735362

And the teachers and other school employees want to hide what they’re saying and doing from the parents/guardians. Kids are welcome to discuss this stuff on their own, it should not be brought up and advocate by the adults. They should not be allowed to push impressionable young kids into huge lifestyle changes. That’s not their job.

Seriously, we knew almost nothing about our teachers personal lives. It really wasn’t discussed. Because it wasn’t germane to learning math, history, science, art, and so forth.

Teach I think that today’s kids probably know a lot more about sex than you did in the year 1980 or me in 1960
Do you think that kids can be somehow “brainwashed” into becoming “gay”?
I know I personally do not think in my case it would be possible for anyone to be able to convince me I was gay.

Now go back to when you were four and somebody dressed you in mommy’s clothes and told you how beautiful you were. The corrupters of children and the groomers of innocents are not trying to to convince you. They are making something attractive to impressionable children. Or don’t you get that?

So I guess you believe that kids will absorb all that teachers teach except perverted sex practices and impossible sex changes? They can learn reading, and writing, and math, and English but they just can’t be taught perversion? Nice try but as a commie you should know grabbing them while they’re young is one of your doctrines. What was it Lenin said: “Give me a child for five years and he’ll be ours forever” or something similar?

Hairy: “Are parental rights an important part of Teach’s own personal future?”

Why does everything with you leftists need to be “personal”? It does not matter if doing the right thing personally affects Teach. What about his progeny or even yours? I guess if you and your family don’t care about your kids and grandkids education that’s up to you but most parents do and they are not happy seeing communism and sexual perversion taught to their kids. Or is that unreasonable to you? Just let others teach your kids whatever they want.

FJB and all the pinko teachers.

Does that matter? Our host has pretty much kept his personal life out of this blog. We know that he sells cars for a living, and that he lives in a condominium, but if he has told us about a wife or girlfriend or children, I have missed it completely. For all I know, he could be homosexual or transgender or an ‘incel’ or completely asexual, but none of those things have anything to do with what and how he writes.

Recall the Senate hearing of Judge Jackson where QOP Senators Hawley, Cruz and Graham et al called her “pro-pedophile” and the criticisms of Senators Romney, Collins and Murkowski for being “pro-pedophile”. And now the talk out of FL of the “anti-grooming law”. The GOP and QAnon have merged forming the The QOP and all you will hear going forward is grooming, grooming, grooming… The gay mafia is using the school system to groom new recruits!!

The QOP, whether they truly believe it or not, know that their cretin base will eat it up. Besides the conspiracy of the left importing MILLIONS of brown immigrants to vote for Dems, the left is now grooming kindergartners to become gay and trans, to vote for Dems!

    • Dana says:

The problem isn’t that Judge Jackson is ‘pro-pedophile,’ but that the lenient sentences she has given out for child pornography are fairly consistent with the below-the-zone sentences being given out for this crime by federal jusges across the country.

The Congress should take action, and remove from these judges the discretion to sentence leniently, but impose a mandatory minimum sentence. I would suggest as a reasonable mandatory minimum life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Judge Jackson explained the sentencing guidelines and the discretion allowed by the laws. But QOP politicos and supporters call this being pro-pedophile.

Since Facts Matter, to be fair, it should be pointed out that Senators Hawley, Cruz, Cotton, Blackburn and Graham are pro-pedophile! Senator Cotton (Q-AR) said Judge Jackson would have defended Nazis at Nuremburg.

We’ve explained this before here in detail, but the single case the pro-pedophile QOPhers relied on was Wesley Hawkins who received 3 months. Gawdawful QOPhers said Hawkins’s name more than 30 times.

Mr Hawkins received 3 mo in prison, 3 mos house arrest, 6 years supervised probation and sex offender registration. He has not re-offended, although Judge Jackson DID send him to a half-way house for his final sex months of supervision for an inappropriate computer search.

Mr Dana recommends that a teenager who views a picture of underage sex go to prison for life. A pedophile is someone who has sex with an underaged person (see Trump DJ, and Gaetz M) not someone who looked a picture. Some men enjoy “rape” videos but that doesn’t make them rapists.

Child pornography is illegal because it victimizes the child who was raped in its production; “rape” pornography is not in itself rape, but consenting actors.

However, no one bothers, or even knows about, the teenager who accidentally comes across a pornographic picture of underaged sex; the guys who get caught and prosecuted are the profligate consumers, producers and distributors of this stuff.

And yes, I do recommend that such people spend the rest of their miserable lives in prison, in general population, not protective custody.

  5. Dana says:

The Kentucky General Assembly passed Senate Bill 83 excluding students born male from participating in girls’ sports, thanks, no doubt, to William Thomas, who goes by the made-up name ‘Lia,’ and his dominance of NCAA women’s swimming, but there has been no version of the Florida law in the Bluegrass State, and since the legislative session is almost over, there’s no time to get one introduced and passed.

SB83 was passed, certified by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House, and sent to Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY) on March 25, 2022. As of yet, he has neither signed nor vetoed the bill, which has been on his desk for eight business days; he has until Friday to take whatever action he will, or it will become law without his signature. The legislature will return into session for two days, April 11 and 12, for a last veto override session, and SB83, which passed 70-23 in the state House, and 26-9 in the state Senate, has far more votes than necessary to override a veto.

In the Bluegrass State, all that is needed to override the Governos veto is a ‘constitutional majority,’ or a majority of the seats in the legislature. That means 51 votes in the House, and 20 in the Senate.

What I have never been able to understand why people such as Mr Thomas, who claims that he’s really, really, really a girl, would engage in competitive sports in such a manner that they would make very obvious the real differences between mentally ill males and real women. Why would Mr Thomas, who wants very much to be accepted as a woman, do something which points out to everybody that he isn’t one? It just makes no sense!

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The kontrarian from Kentook wonders why Ms Thomas wants to swim competitively. Why does anyone wish to compete in sports? And why would Ms Thomas subject herself to criticism and ridicule? Mr Dana wishes the “mentally ill” Ms Thomas would take her pills and go sit in the corner. Ms Thomas has shown decided courage to do what she’s done.

Ms Thomas won the 500m freestyle in the NCCA championships but was well short of the NCAA record set by the incredible Katy Ledecky but lost every other race, finishing last in the 100m. Ms Thomas is 6’1″ tall, while Ms Ledecky is 6’0″. Is it possible that height and “wingspan” contribute to swimming speed? Maybe swimming needs a height limit?

All of this is not to say that the regulatory bodies need to accept their current policies (which mostly center on the duration of hormone-suppression). If they need to make the duration two years instead of one year, so be it. Ms Thomas lost significant muscle mass and importantly, significant swimming speed during her transition.

Here’s a question for all. Suppose a high school boy recognizes that he’s been a girl trapped in a boy’s body and decides to transition. He is also 7’2″ tall and a 5-star recruit, averaging 33 points, 17 points and 6 blocked shots a game for his 3-time state champion squad. IF he had been a female during those earlier years, natural estrogens would have stimulated closure of the epiphyseal growth plates, and she would have been perhaps 6’3″ instead. Once she transitions she will still be 7’2″ in college. Is that fair to the other teams and coaches who might lose games and championships?

      • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

There is no such thing as a girl trapped in a boys body. That’s a social construct created by leftists to destroy traditional sex rolls, family and religion. Your premise has no basis in actual non-propaganda science and we reject it. Also there is no “suppose”. Fact is Mr. Thomas is a fukin guy. He will always be a guy. I’m sorry he’s unhappy but not everyone is always happy all the time. Just look at dOwd. He’s always a miserable bitch who refuses to follow the science when it doesn’t go his way. Like human embryos are humans, males are not females. Taking away the achievements of female athletes will not change that either for Thomas or dOwd.

I must give you credit for you use of alliteration in “The kontrarian from Kentook”, but would suggest “The kontrarian from Kentooky” would work better, since going from four syllables to three works better than four to two.

The competitive urge does exist, and it’s obvious that Mr Thomas feels it, but he has that other goal, to trick people into thinking he’s really a woman. Those two goals are mutually exclusive in this instance, in that everything he has done since the swimming season started emphasizes the tremendous difference between his male body and the bodies of real women.

If someone wished to trash the ‘transgender’ agenda, what would he have done differently from what Mr Thomas did?

Oh, wait, I know what he’d have done differently! Rather than throw his last couple of races, after he won the women’s 500-yard freestyle, he’d have won them all. Does anyone here really believe that he didn’t shade his times?

Ms (sic) Thomas won the 500m freestyle in the NCCA championships but was well short of the NCAA record set by the incredible Katy Ledecky but lost every other race, finishing last in the 100m. Ms (sic) Thomas is 6’1? tall, while Ms Ledecky is 6’0?. Is it possible that height and “wingspan” contribute to swimming speed? Maybe swimming needs a height limit?

Actually, Mr Thomas has been listed at both 6’2″ and 6’3″.

But what really made the difference is that Mr Thomas underwent puberty as a male, and competed as a male until he was 21 years old. He has larger lungs, more muscle mass, larger hands and feet, and a different hip structure than women.

On Sunday, December 5, 2021, Mr Thomas, won the women’s 1,650 yard freestyle at the Zippy Invitational with a time of 15:59:71; the second-place finisher was his teammate Anna Sofia Kalandaze, who touched at 16:37:44. The difference between Mr Thomas’ and Miss Kalandaze’s times is 37.73 seconds.

Competitive swimming at the collegiate level involves races which are often won by fractions of a second. A victory of 37.73 seconds is extraordinary.

In the 500-yard freestyle final, Mr Thomas again defeated his teammate, Miss Kalandaze, who finished second, 4:34.06 to 4:48.99, a 14.93 second margin; Miss Kalandaze defeated the seventh-place finisher by 7.42 seconds, just half of the time she was behind Mr Thomas.

Mr Thomas time would have finished 15th in the men’s final, ahead of ten other male swimmers. The last place male swimmer in the 500 yard freestyle, Luke Scoboria of Bloomsburg University, finished at 4:42.78, 7.21 seconds ahead of Miss Kalandaze’s second-place time. His year of taking testosterone suppressants has obviously not done what the NCAA believe it would.

I’m pretty sure that you aren’t really stupid enough to think that there are no physical differences between males and females that don’t make a real difference in athletic competition.

Student: What does the word “gay” mean?
Teacher: Let’s look what the Merriam-Webster dictionary says, shall we? It looks as if there are several definitions!

    gay (adjective)

    \ ?g? \
    Definition of gay
1a: of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction to people of one’s same sex
—often used to refer to men only

b: of, relating to, or intended for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, etc.
    e.g., the gay rights movement

    2a: happily excited : MERRY

b: keenly alive and exuberant : having or inducing high spirits

    3a: BRIGHT, LIVELY

    b: brilliant in color

Teacher: We are not allowed by state law to discuss the first definition.
    Student: Why?
Teacher: Because I would get fired. (Looking at the CC TV) But I think we can discuss how the meanings and usage of words in the English language change over time.
    Student: Cool!
Teacher: That’s a good example! Cool used to mean moderately cold or lacking in warmth, but has also taken on meanings of aloofness (not being interested) or of something being worthy of praise.
    Student: Words are sure interesting!
Teacher: Yes they are, Timmy! The study of where words come from is called etymology.
Student: But isn’t that the study of bugs?
Teacher: Close. The word etymology comes from the Greek word etymon which means “meaning”. Entomology comes from the Greek word entomon which means “insect”.
    Student: Wow!
Teacher: Many of our English words come from old Latin and Greek words that passed through northern and Western Europe to here.
Student: But why are some words not allowed to be discussed in school?
Teacher: Because the government wants to make certain students grow up right.
Student: Mrs McGillicutty, school security forces are knocking at the door!
Teacher: Bye Timmy. You’re a wonderful young man!
