Sorry Hairy, peaceful protest IS part of what you call FREEDUMB. The Freedom Convoy in Canada is not the first group of protestors to ever block a road or a bridge, are they. They did not invent it. You were silent when leftists blocked streets and even took them over as “autonomous zones” last year. You were quiet as a church mouse when they burnt people’s homes and businesses as well as when they murdered cops and looted but now an unarmed group of people seeking freedom from tyrannical mandates has you mired in a yeast infection.
Being free may be dumb to you not not to others. We want to be free from people like you.
If you hate freedom so much move to Cuba.
We were all taught, in junior high and high school, how noble the protest of the Bostonians was on December 16, 1773 was. And on this fine site, we’ve seen a couple of frequent commenters tell us that the ‘fiery but mostly peaceful protests’ that raged during the summer and fall of 2020 over the unfortunate death of a drug addled thief and convicted felon were good and noble and needed to bring change to America.
Yet now, we see some of the same voices who thought George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were martyrs for a noble cause raised against working class people fighting an authoritarian tyranny.
The Canadian government, led by its own elites, wants to clamp down on the protesting truckers, but the truckers have the power here, if they are just willing to see it and exercise it. The government can use the police against them — and anyone who thinks that the police, either in Canada or here, will stand down rather than execute unconstitutional orders should have been dramatically disabused of that notion — but if the truckers return home but refuse to haul goods, for even just a week, they’ll shut down the country far more efficiently than their blockades have been, and refusing to work is not something the government can criminalize. Empty grocery store shelves, propane not delivered, medicines and mail not hauled, automobile accidents not answered, can and will bring the fall of the Trudeau government.
The government, which depend on the consent of the governed, are terrified:

We still advocate that those ‘patriots’ disturbed by America separate themselves from America! You can have the old confederacy, and the people can choose who they side with – America or the new nation.
The real Tea Partiers didn’t try to change England, they separated themselves from England.
The Confederate States of America tried that a century and a half ago but failed. We don’t imagine that Americans will try to stop you this time. Godspeed, you intrepid explorers! You’re off to a brave new world!!

Yeah, I know: you will be appalled, but hey, sensible people are already appalled by what the Democrats in power have done, and are doing, and that’s a big part of the reason that the left are almost certainly going to lose in November.
The Democrats are running scared, as we see almost everywhere, with them ending COVID restrictions, not because they believe the danger is really over, but because the people demand it. The Dems are simply hoping that, by bailing on restrictions now, they won’t lose quite as badly in November.

It was in the sixties, and pushing 70º F on the farm last week, and though we’ve had a cold Friday and Saturday, and it was 26º this morning, it’s now sunny and 61º outside right now. Despite Punxsutawney Phil’s predictions, it’s beginning to look like an early Spring might be arriving! From my keyboard to God’s monitor screen!
Thus, shorts week, short shorts week!, is most appreciated and appropriate!
Listen Dowd. You don’t know me. You have no idea who or what I am. All you see is a name on a comment. You don’t know if I’m even a man or woman. You don’t know if I’ve published 5 children’s books aimed at kids with learning disabilities. You don’t know if I have a degree in economics or dropped out of high school. In fact there’s so much you don’t know that for you to sit there and talk down to me, or for that matter anyone else commenting here is ludicrous.
Similarly, I know very little about you. I think someone said you’re either a pharmacist or involved in the manufacture of drugs some how. Either way you are not an expert on economics, Covid, the climate, EV’s, energy, politics, religion, or any other subject other than your chosen field of endeavor. You get your information like we do, by reading it. You may or may not be reading the correct information or you may or may not be drawing the correct conclusions from the information you read. We have no way of knowing until you start typing your nonsense. One thing is for sure and that is you only accept ideas, information and “experts” from the left which automatically means you have half truths at best. But that’s how you want it. When your brain hears contradictory information from your approved narrative it automatically shuts down.
Once reliable facts are laid at your feet and you refuse even to acknowledge them you have closed your mind and left any believable reality. Case in point; the videos and affidavits about the voter fraud in the last election. You might not like it. You might not agree with it. But the fact remains the preliminary evidence would indicate to any reasonable man the need for investigation. Unless you’re afraid of the results. We are all sure if the tables were reversed (like in 2016) you would be screaming to high hell if we ignored you, called you names and even went so far as to shoot and arrest people protesting for your point of view. BTW, you’d also be screaming like a raped ape if we ever called any of your protestors “insurrectionists” even as they riot, burn and loot city after city because a black criminal was killed by a cop. Hell, you won’t even admit they were rioters. Your willing suspension of the truth is part of the underlying disease of leftism that renders you immune to logic, morality and compassion.
I’m surprised that Let’s Go Brandon, drowningpuppies, dave7124, est1950 or any other reasonable person for that matter still responds to your insulting and malicious comments. I for one no longer will. In fact, if I see your name on the comment list when I click onto the site I will leave. I will not encourage your racism, anti Christian bigotry, anti American hate and general intellectual sloppiness by answering or participating in any way with your hateful, dehumanizing ignorance.
