Speaking of martyrs, remember how Don Cuomo begged America’s healthcare workers to travel to New York to fight the outbreak at the hardest hit part of the nation?
Cuomo announced Tuesday that healthcare workers who voluntarily traveled to New York to help with the Wu Hu Flu will have to pay state income taxes.
Legally, he’s within his rights, but how many of those people, and their families, will ever trust a Democrat again? Not to mention all the people who see this story.
I think we just found the new Stupid Party.
It’s not just the money that they made from working for hospitals and health centers while in New York. New York wants to tax their income from their home state if their company released them or gave them paid leave to go help in New York.
While New York may be within their rights to tax the income made in their state, the issue of income made in another state while a resident of that state and not New York is much murkier.
Not only that, but New York is claiming that the companies in other states will have to register within the state of New York and present tax documents of the workers. More costs to companies that are not even doing business in New York.
In the twenty-teens, there have been several Supreme Court cases that seem to indicate that the state of residence is where state taxes can be paid from income derived while in the state. The Court ruled that out of state income can be taxed by the state in which the income is generated, but a non resident state cannot reach into the tax coffers of the home state as New York is trying to do now.
Given that the thousands of people that traveled to New York to help with the crisis exacerbated by New York itself, there is something else to consider. Those people were paid at a normal pay rate for their first 40 hours lowering the amount of money being paid to other workers who were not only exhausted, but well into the realm of overtime. In other words, the people that answered New York’s call SAVED the state money. Now New York wants to repay their kindness and caring with a tax bill.

And finally, you have New York City kicking out Samaritan’s Purse, who at the height of the crisis erected a tent hospital in Central Park at their own expense, never charging the city for services. Without prejudice or hatred, they treated everyone who walked through the door. Now New York has told them they are no longer welcome because of their religious beliefs.
New York was glad to accept their help, but they have to leave now because some in New York aren’t as tolerant of others as they want others to be.
It can be said that the they hate differing beliefs which would make sense because all the left has is hate.

Well, Mr Dowd will probably get his wish: with 33 million Americans having lost their jobs due to this unreasoning panic, 77% of them think that they’ll be able to return to their old jobs, but that’s probably very optimistic. And it means 8 million don’t think they’ll have their old jobs back to which to return.
Roughly 18% of Americans who had jobs before this panic were employed by businesses with 19 or fewer employees. How many of those diners and bagel shops and small printers simply went bankrupt because they couldn’t pay bills or rent? How many will never reopen? For those that attempt to reopen, how many will have far fewer customers than previously.
So, congratulations to the Democrats for finding the one way they could defeat President Trump’s re-election bid, by destroying the economy. They’ll get President Trump out of office, and get to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg — if she doesn’t croak sooner — with a far-left radical, and the cost to the nation will only be 12 million or so people out-of-work. I guess to those on the left who kept their jobs, that’s a more than acceptable price, right?
