Former California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R) said Thursday that he discussed a possible presidential pardon with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in exchange for proof that Russia didn’t hack into the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) email, Yahoo News reported.
Rohrabacher told Yahoo News that he held a three-hour meeting at the Ecuadorian Embassy in August 2017 when he informed Assange of the potential deal. The former congressman said he aimed to gather proof for a widely debunked theory that former DNC staffer Seth Rich, who was killed in Washington in 2016, leaked the information, rather than Russian intelligence agents hacking the system.
The theory would negate U.S. intelligence agencies’ and former special counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors’ conclusions that Russian operatives hacked the DNC email.

*Federal prosecutors charged a Michigan man after threatening emails were sent to the attorney representing the whistleblower behind the report that led to President Trump’s impeachment.
Mark Zaid, who represented the unnamed whistleblower, allegedly received threatening messages from a man authorities identified as Brittan Atkinson shortly after Trump held up tweets Zaid had published about his client in front of the press.
Atkinson sent some horrific emails to Zaid, according to authorities. One of the messages said: “All traitors must die miserable deaths. Those that represent traitors shall meet the same fate. We will hunt you down and bleed you out like the pigs you are. We have nothing but time, and you are running out of it.â€
He added: “Keep looking over your shoulder. We know who you are, where you live, and who you associate with. We are all strangers in a crowd to you.â€*
This seems to be a common theme amongst the far-right.
Like he’s the first guy to ever threaten a lawyer or a traitor?
