Poll: 22% Of Democrats Are Super Excited For Medicare For All!

Of the things that Democrats are running on, Medicare For All, or some form of single payer, is huge in their talking points, especially for the 365 running for president. Many are yammering about getting rid of private insurance. How’s that working out?

Poll: Only 22 Percent of Democrats Prefer Medicare for All

Only 22 percent of Democrat voters want to eliminate private health insurance in favor of a Medicare for All system, according to a poll released Monday.

A Monmouth University poll released Monday found that many Democrat voters remain uneasy about eliminating America’s private health insurance system in favor of the single-payer Medicare for All system.

Twenty-two percent of Democrats said that they would want to eliminate private insurance for Medicare for All when asked what healthcare policy they prefer.

Fifty-three percent of Democrats prefer a system to either allow Americans to opt into Medicare or keep their private coverage, seven percent want to keep private insurance for those under age 65 but “regulate the costs,” and 11 percent want to keep the private insurance system under Obamacare as is.

Monmouth then polled Democrats who selected the option for either allowing Americans to opt into Medicare whether they would want to move to a private health insurance system.

Of those Democrats that they would prefer a system where Americans could opt into Medicare, 18 percent said they would want to move to Medicare for All-style system eventually, 33 percent said there should always be a private health insurance option, two percent said that they did not know, and 21 percent said that there should be no minor changes after they allow for a Medicare opt-in option.

So, it’s not all bad, but, again, most of the big wigs in the Democrat primary standings have said at some point that they want to do away with private insurance.

A recent poll found that 64 percent of battleground state voters prefer lowering healthcare costs over universal healthcare access.

So, essentially, Medicare for All is not a position that will help them in the general election. Keep running on this, Democrats!

  1. Coincidentally, that looks like the same number of people who are unwilling to pay for their own medical costs or want more than they can afford. As the saying goes, if you think medical care is expensive now, just wait till it’s free.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Every other advanced nation on Earth delivers health care to all their citizens for about half per person of what we Americans do.

Time and again, US policies redistributes money from the working classes to the political donor classes (execs, pharma, docs, lawyers, shareholders). The working classes pay for this transfer with their taxes, premiums, co-pays, deductibles etc.

Why do you think the right objects with such vehemence to a public option – where profits are removed, advertising is reduced, no sales bonuses, less overhead overall?

        Advanced? How?

Most of those so-called “advanced nations” would rank in the lower third of US states economically to pay the taxes that fund that third-rate health care where surgery is years in the future.

US policies redistributes money from the working classes to the political donor classes (execs, pharma, docs, lawyers, shareholders).

It does? Care to give us some links?

The working classes pay for this transfer with their taxes, premiums, co-pays, deductibles etc.</i

Actually, they don’t. Our taxes are much lower and those premiums, co-pays, and deductibles are just a few bucks compared with 50% in income tax, 25% in sales tax, and $2.50/gal in gas taxes.

Need I remind you we have the second-lowest gas tax in the world?

Why do you think the right objects with such vehemence to a public option – where profits are removed, advertising is reduced, no sales bonuses, less overhead overall?

Because it’s lousy care at an exorbitant price?

        • Professor Hale says:

Jeff acts like only the poor people use doctors and hospitals. Health care in the USA is trade. People who wants health goods and services pay the people who provide those goods and services. In America, we, as a nation, spend far more than everyone else for the same reason we spend more on everything else… we demand more. Europeans don’t have SUVs, big TV sets, 4,000 sq ft homes, 2-5 acre lots, multiple cars in each home, and garages to park them in. Americans spend more on everything because we buy more of everything. In America, Ruth Bader Ginsburg survives cancer three times and at 80+ years old still expects to get full treatment a fourth time. Not in Europe. In Europe, the state decides that 80 years old people should die from cancer and call it “natural causes”.

Jeff throws this comment out about once a month. You can try to explain that our liberal government is setting all medical prices and the evils of government run health care, but he can’t understand, yes he is that stupid.

But one thing, how much has Jeff done for the poor other than go on about how little the government does. The only activity he has admired to sounds like court ordered community service. Even looking under his full names, nothing comes up.

Perfesser Pretend doesn’t understand what he’s trying to talk about.

So Americans pay double what is needed for health care because we’re big spenders!

In general, US healthcare is no better than in other advanced nations.

Every word you type is a lie. You don’t even try.

          • formwiz says:

No, what I type comes off public sources.

You don’t use anything (when you link at all) that doesn’t come off some Lefty shill. Hmmm, Peterson-Kaiser; something to do with Kaiser Permanente, mayhap?

In general, US healthcare is no better than in other advanced nations.

            Lie.

My wife often treated people from outside the country who came here for something better than what they got in their “advanced nations”. They also couldn’t understand why we wanted IdiotCare when what we had already was so much better.

      • Doom and Gloom says:

One half of the nation pays ZERO income taxes and only about 6-8 percent sales tax.

Those people in these foreign nations pay VAT TAXES which amount to 17-27 percent and is not negotiable.

Only persons who don’t reside in the respective country are eligible for VAT refund. For EU countries, only persons who reside outside of EU are eligible for VAT refund. EU residents can purchase goods with Global Blue Tax-Free Shopping in non – EU countries, e.g. Norway and Switzerland.

Lets just take the Netherlands for an example:

*** In the first and second bracket of box 1, national insurance tax is levied at a rate of 27.65%. Box 2 income is taxed at a flat rate of 25%. Box 3 income is taxed at a flat rate of 30%.***

27.65 percent flat tax rate for INSURANCE, 25 percent-30 percent Income tax. VAT….The 9% rate applies to payments made from 1 January 2019.

So lets add all of this up. 28 percent plus 25 percent plust 9 percent equals. 72 percent tax in order to have health care. NOW

Throw on top of that: The Netherlands has a universal healthcare system. It’s managed by the government and supplemented by private insurers. Anyone living or working in the Netherlands must obtain basic level health insurance (with or without additional coverage) from a Dutch provider.

So my dear friend you have nothing left of your paycheck but you get good healthcare. Great. Awesome. No thanks. The USA has the best system in the world. The rest of these countries rely on the USA to protect them so they can be these snowflake liberal nations who dont even supply their police with weapon and their militaries couldnt be the wyoming national guard.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          d and g,

Again, you don’t understand the issue. The TOTAL amount (taxes, premiums, co-pays, deductibles, out of pocket) that citizens in those countries pay for health care averages 50% of what we Americans pay.

You’re lumping all other taxes as if they all go toward healthcare.

          • Doom and Gloom says:

No, what I understand is that in Those countries they pay 72-80 percent tax rates.

Regardless of what the cost of healthcare is to the government the citizens still pay 72-80 percent in taxes.

That leaves 22-28 cents left over to LIVE.

In the United States, we pay more for healthcare so we can provide MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF HIGH PAYING, benefit-rich jobs.

In those wonderful countries you keep referring to that have populations of between 8-25 million people, they provide fair paying healthcare jobs in which they are STILL TAXED AT 70 PLUS PERCENT WITH NO LOOPHOLES.

No thanks. I do get it. IN the USA our healthcare is more expensive because it provides literally millions upon millions of great paying, middle class jobs that YOU want to get rid of.

The left no longer cares about the middle class, the poor, the black or hispanic community. They only care about Illegals flooding the border and Cloward and Pivening the United States.

There is not one single argument you can make about how cheap healthcare is in other countries because I just showed you it cost the average citizen 70-80 percent taxes to have that Cheap health care.

          • formwiz says:

I forgot. The economies of those countries compare to the Deep South, so a chunk has to go for welfare and the care is so lousy, even though it’s 3/4 of what we spend, it still isn’t as good as what we get.

  2. Kye says:

“So, it’s not all bad, but, again, most of the big wigs in the Democrat primary standings have said at some point that they want to do away with private insurance.”

Except for themselves, their family, friends and supporters including Hollywood and the Media, of course.

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Actually, VP Biden does not favor Medicare-for-All. In general, he supports the current mixed public-private system with upgrades.

  4. formwiz says:

This is why No One and Someone Else are running 4th and 5th among Democrats ahead of the 11 still in the hunt.

PS Just to ease Jeffery’s (I use the term loosely) mind, of all those “advanced nations”, America’s poorest residents are still richer than 60% of those “advanced nations”.

So our way is better than the Commie way.

    • Kye says:

formwiz, we live in one of the very few countries that people risk their lives to get IN TO rather than OUT OF and all we get is negative shit from leftists. There are areas in America where the poor rival those of third world countries but they are almost all run by Democrat Communists exclusively. Sadly, the poor people in those areas are STILL better off than their counters in other countries and saying they aren’t only shows “The Fredo Effect” is alive and well among leftist tools.

Trump 2020 Send America’s poor to the other countries where they’d be better off. I dare ya.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Edward Sibley Doucher is spreading more nonsense. But backs it up with an opinion piece from PJ Media, LOL.

The douche suit thinks it better to be poor in the US than middle class in France., LOL.

      Whatamaroon.

Do you think Belgians, Canadians, Israelis, Swedes, Japanese, French, Swiss etc are commies?

      • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

So again little sissybitch is long on exaggeration, short on factual data.

The Amazon rainforest is burning up!!!!

        Lol guy loser. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • formwiz says:

Actually, it is better to be poor here. We have the most comfortable poverty in history.

Even the poor here have Adidas, cell phones, big screen TVs, live on fast food. They all cost money.

Do you think Belgians, Canadians, Israelis, Swedes, Japanese, French, Swiss etc are commies?

Pretty much. And Israel left socialism behind some years ago.
