Magnitude 4.4 earthquake shakes Tennessee, Georgia
Residents in Tennessee and Georgia got a big surprise Wednesday morning: the rumblings of an earthquake.
A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey at around 4:14Â a.m. ET, with its epicenter near Decatur, Tenn., which is roughly more than 150 miles from Nashville.
An aftershock was felt about 13 minutes later with a magnitude of 3.3, said the USGS.
According to Atlanta TV station WXIA, the earthquake was felt as far as northern Georgia.

You find a few nutjobs who think global warming causes earthquakes and become apoplectic, but millions of Republicans don’t realize the Earth is warming, and you’re one of them.

Except, I write that the earth has warmed and we are in the midst of a warm period all the time. I say it is mostly natural. Is your memory that bad, Jeff?
Warming or cooling for that matter are cyclical. There have been numerous warming and cooling periods in Earth history in the last 2,00 years (roughly there was the Roman warm period and the medieval warm periods where temperatures were higher than they are right now. IE Greenland was actually green. We are now entering a period little to no sunspot activity which is called a maunder minimum this portends a period of colder temperatures for at least this winter and the future is an unknown. They cannot predict the weather a few days in advance and they are saying they can predict what will happen will happen a century or more from now.
